Great Little machine
I was very happy with how easy to use this sprayer is. I am a petite woman and had no problem cradling this on my arm and lifting it up. I had a piece of cardboard to shoot on before I sprayed the wall. I used it to texture several large areas where I had patched cracks and one wall I had skim coated. The texture matched my orange peel perfectly. I used the black small tip. You don't have to spray continuously, you can let go of the trigger, to adjust your position or if you see a spot you missed just give it a quick blast. After it has begun to dry, if there are any big blobs, take a damp sponge and dab it lightly. I have used the hoppers with a compressor and cans of texture but this sprayer is my favorite! Have fun!

Better than spray cans.
After alot of trial and error, I found the key to match the orange peel texture on my walls was to:1) Mix the drywall mud to the consistency of pancake batter.2) I used the medium yellow nozzle and3) I just barely pressed the trigger to get a very light texture on the wall. This allowed me to gradually build up the texture until it matched the existing texture.4) Also important to spray the texture in the typical ambient light for the area being sprayed. Adding additional lighting while spraying resulted in spraying too much or not enough texture. Working in the typical ambient lighting made it much easier to match the existing texture.Using a thinner mix of drywall mud looked more like paint than texture. Using a thicker mix resulted in texture that was too prominent instead of flat/smooth. Once I figured out all of the above, I was able to get better results than the spray cans and in a more cost effective manner.

I want to love it...
I have a small remodeling business and find larger compressors and hopper guns take up too much room on the truck to regularly pack. So I thought this would be a great solution, and overall it's a great idea, unfortunately I found 2 significant hurdles/ shortcomings:1) I myself couldn't get enough angle to spray the ceiling; I know videos show it done and such and yes turning the hopper gives you a little more clearance, but it just couldn't reliable spray a consistent texture even the 18" up2) you have to constantly clean the tip, and by constantly I mean 2 or 3x per hopper full. I was trying to eggshell with regular mud (not hot) which is a pretty thinned down mix but I found the tip kept gumming up and spitting blobs which really, really makes a good orange peel finish not good.Otherwise it seems like a good unit, and worked admirably on vertical surfaces (though still had to clean the tip often but that at least is really easy).FYI if you get it and have problems getting the hopper to seat, check the orientation and there is a L and R side. Turns out I had to rotate 180degrees which the wagner rep didn't know but someone on youtube mentioned.>>> updated March 2023: after working with it a little more I have found I can get a decent (though not fine) eggshell finish on walls; ceilings not so much as the blower motor doesn't have enough power to shoot very well at an upward angle. So, an acceptable finish but don't expect to match fine eggshell, I'd say medium.
