It's been over 50 years, glad I found it again!
I am so happy I found the Jeris hair tonic as its been 50+ years! As a small child, perhaps 3-5 years old Dad would let me get behind him in his Lazy-boy chair, late 60's and I would pretend to be a Barber and use his glass bottle Jeris Hair tonic and I was always impressed as a child with the green color and clean smell.Well now 50+ years later I see this same product ( minus the glass bottle ) so I decide to try it for myself!Same smell as I remember as a kid and its just good stuff. I don't have much hair but I do have itchy scalp from time to time and this product is wonderful to simply rub on my scalp during the day for a nice fresh clean feeling! I must also suggest try the Jeris Osage Rub aftershave product as I started using that about ten years ago and its a very special product! Its an extra, mega cool after shave product. So happy Jeris still make these fine products that will always be part of my personal hygiene and is something a truly enjoy using the older I get.

Great old school formula. Chicks dig it.
I tried other hair tonics. Hair tonics are old school and rarely used now. Too bad. Many do not know they exist. I had others do a blind smell test on Jeris and other hair grooms and Jeris won. It has a nice smell, keeps hair from sticking up or going in weird directions and the extra benefit of the old school barber smell. I like formula 21, Vitalis and Clubman and brylcreem. Jeris is the stand out. It has a mild scent and barely noticeable after a few minites. Unfortunately you have to use Amazon to find any hair grooms/tonics. Old school barbers used hair tonics. They would soak combs and straight razors in these mysterious jars. As it turns out these Jars were some kind of hair tonics that were mainly alcohol. Amazon the lifeline for old school stuff. If it weren’t for amazon, hair groom/tonics would have disappeared. I hope new barbers keep Jeris, Vitalis and others around.

Classic and wonderful
I tried one of my buddy's hair tonics on a recent vacation and just loved it. So I did some internet research and settled on Jeris as my first to try. I usually use just a teeny amount of hair gel in the morning to get my hair to behave. Jeris is able to achieve this same effect while smelling INCREDIBLE. It is so pleasant and make my hair soft unlike hair gel. I also don't have to worry about getting that crunchy look if I accidentally over-gel my hair (which happens on occasion).

GOOD, BUT. . .
I was sort of expected to sniff that wonderful barber shop fragrance from my youth, and I remember that our family barber always used Jeris products. This did not evoke that fragrance. Not really a complaint, it's pleasant enough, but just not what I remembered. Three possibilities: 1. My "smeller" ain't what it used to be. 2. The Jeris people have changed their formula. 3. Our barber used a different Jeris hair tonic product. The mystery deepens.

For that old school barber shop smell
My barber used this on my hair after each haircut for over 30 years until he decided to retire. I have always loved the smell and how it leaves your hair soft and manageable. My wife loves the smell as well. A little goes a long way and does not weight down your hair or leave it with a oily/greasy feeling. After a shower I fry my hair leaving it a bit damp, slap some of this on my palm and work it into my hair then style. I will always have this in my restroom.

Great classic scent
This product provides a light hold with no greasy feel since it is water based. Classic barber look and smell. Can’t go wrong with this hair tonic.
