Easy, Inexpensive, Cordless Vacuum works Great!
I bought this 4 years ago and it has worked perfectly. It is inexpensive for a good working machine. It is not as powerful as a regular or expensive vacuum cleaner, but it does my rugs and carpets very well. It is easy to clean out. I have a small house the size of a 2 bedrm apt. so if you want a battery that lasts for larger than that I am not sure how long the battery lasts as it has never run out on me. It's great to grab and use when you are in a hurry as it is light weight and its always been charged when I go to use it. Twice had to clean out hair from the roller and the suction path as it wasn't working well but once I did that it was back to working great. I am getting ready to buy another one for a friend who lives in a small apartment. I like it very much!

Good product
Great suction, and works wonderfully on thin carpets and flat floors. Doesn't work on thick haired carpets. Easy to empty and clean out. easy to remove brush makes the hair easy to remove. Worth the price

It’s good enough but cup emptying and cleaning filter all the time is painful.
I guess perhaps 3 1/2 stars. I’m so concerned it was scratching my hardwood floors, but I could find no sign of that. It sounds like it is and the bottom is hard plastic. But that seems to be ok. Battery life seems fine, but then again, it’s brand new and I expect that to do both floors of home. The most annoying thing is the empty cup. You have to take out two pieces to empty the cup. The foam and another piece. Painful. The foam was filthy with one use and I had to run it under water and rinse it out. In this humidity, could take a long time to dry. Do I want to buy an extra filter? Prob not. It’s an expensive piece of plastic at near $100. The pros - very light and I like the swivel action and small head to get into nooks and under counters. It seems to pick up all the crumbs. The noise level is fine. It’s a vacuum, of course they’re noisy. Will it last as long as my other stick vac that was scratching my floor to bits? Prob not. But I’ll keep it for now. I’ve used it seriously once to do first floor. Still plenty of juice left in the battery. Like I said, the filter cup is not easy to get in and out and not just a push button to empty. Have to remove two layers. I dislike that very much. Oh well. It’s the only stick vac without a motor at the top blowing into my face (immediately returned a Dyson for just that fact) and it’s incredibly lightweight to even do stairs. It’s the emptying of the cup and taking too long to clean it. Could I leave debris in the cup for several sessions or three? Sure, but I hate to have all that dust just sitting there in the vac. The most pro thing about it is that there is no motor at the top of the handle blowing into my face.

Plastic parts FAIL
I hate corded vacuums. Having to unreel, plug in, push a big heavy vacuum around, only to find the cord's just not long enough and having to replug, wind, stow etc... is a hassle. That's why I got this Dirt Devil. It is light, it picks up enough off the wood floor, especially all the long hairs around the house, and the filter mechanism seems to get a lot of dirt and is easy to clean and dump out.Cleaning up afterwards isn't too bad. I can dump the container, pop off the rotating brush, rip out the hairs from it, and once in a long time, wash the tank and the foam filter no problems. I accepted that as regular maintenance to be done periodically.Where this vacuum fails MISERABLY, is in the connection between the rotating brush and the spindle. it's a soft plastic, six sided socket. The problem, is that after a a year and a half of constant use, the socket wears out, becomes round, and spins but the rotating brush stays still. It still sucks (literally, which is good), but the brush no longer spins, which means it no longer collects hair, or sweep crud into the suction channel. I've attached pictures. I suppose I could use glue or securely fasten the spindle to the socket somehow, but that will prevent me from removing the rotating brush, which needs regular cleaning (pulling hair off the brush). It would be great if Dirt Devil could provide me with a new socket part and new brush. Better if they made the connection with a sturdier material, or a different shape (maybe square or torx).

Where have you been all my Life?
I cant explain how absolutely easy and great this is to use. I have owned a KIRBY (YUCK) and several Sharks but this little sucker puts them to sham for ease of use lightness and suction. The only ( small and not a big deal) downside is you mush empty it and clean the brush frequently ( I have 2 large very hairy dogs) but it is so easy to do it really isn't a deal breaker. I bought 2 more.... one for my 92 year old mother in law and one for my 88 year old dad. They love how it is light weight, cordless and they use it daily for small messes. I would highly reccomend this even as a secondary cleaner. Unlike a swiffer ( which I use to use) there is no additional purchasing for pads. YES!!!
