Overall this is a very nice carafe. There's a good weight to it without being heavy. Be sure to have your scissors handy because this came so well packed in bubble wrap I actually had to cut through it to get to the box. Excellent since I was a little worried about breakage.The top and insert are plastic and snap onto the top of the carafe. The top is very easy to place and remove and have stayed in place through several usages. There are straining teeth on top where the spout is. I haven't put anything but iced tea in it so I can't say this is something handy to have or not but its nice to be able to have stronger iced tea since the ice is separate from the tea so it doesn't get all watered down.So if you are looking for a beautiful carafe you might want to stop looking and buy this one. Good price, good quality, fast delivery, outstanding packaging.

I don't use the infuser, just the pitcher. Love it. Works great for iced tea and is very pretty. Not too heavy but definitely solid and not easy to break. The lid is plastic and that is actually better I think because it is more durable and would be easy to break if glass.

Bought 2 of these carafes and they're great!! Beautiful and came very well packaged, no way of breaking. Planning on using these for my Signature Pregatinies at a baby shower so the ladies can pour their own. Haven't used yet but excited to try them out. The ice core and top lid are high grade plastic which is wonderful, otherwise they would be way too heavy when filled with liquid but carafe itself is all thick glass. Great price and would definitely highly recommend!

I was excited to receive this pitcher, but totally disappointed when I opened the package and it was missing components. The descriptive writeup specifically said that the pitcher came with a plastic lid and a removable ice container. I only received the pitcher itself. The pitcher is beautiful, but it was not what I had ordered, so I sent it back for a refund. I found the same pitcher with another merchant and bought it. I paid a few dollars more, but it did arrive complete, which made me very happy!

Pitcher is attractive but did not include lid or ice core. Very frustrating as that was one of the reasons I selected particular pitcher.

Good capacity and pretty, but heavy— strong

Wanted a water pitcher for beside my bed. This works well, although a plus and minus is that this is a heavy glass pitcher. When filled with water, it is even heavier. But, it is also very sturdy. My previous pitcher cracked by the handle. I don't think that will happen with this pitcher. It has a wide mouth that allows for easy cleaning. Overall, considering the very reasonable cost, this is a nice pitcher.

This pitcher looks like an antique. Beautiful. We bought it for Lemonade or Iced Tea.
