OH MY PORK! This Lardo takes pork to new heights. I thought the ultimate was pork belly until I tried Lardo Iberico. Sliced thinly, it melts beautifully over brocolli & other veggies (steamed....not raw, of course) and also makes a nice spread (when brought to room temp) on chibata bread or crackers. It's is also a tasty treat if you place some under the skin of a chicken breast before baking. I'm sure I'll think of many other culinary uses....just give me some time. I read about this in a gourmet magazine and I guess what shocked me is that the price had not yet been effected by the public hype. The product is excellent and came quickly and well packaged in a styrofoam box with a cold pack.

package arrive warm
Sorry to say that as much as i wanted to enjoy it I couldn't because the package arrived warm with 2 little defrosted ice packs, I still took a small slice and tasted it. It was horrible it tasted rancid. Very disappointed i was so looking forward to enjoying it. I tossed it in the trash. 😒

Taste ok, packaging was very poor ice melted
it’s is ok, we didn’t like the spice rub, but we cut that off . Packaging was very poor considering this is shipped from East Coast to California, it came in a FedEx envelop, product was inside silver Bubble envelop , with a single palm size ice pack - which was completely melted and warm to touch on arrival. Not acceptable packaging at all.

Good but contains sugar
It tastes fine. It reminds me of the fatback we ate when food was rationed in communism growing up, but without the sugar added. I will not reorder unless I'm desperate. It does ship the next day, which is a pro.

Fat with a bit of an Acorn flavor
This is more of a total fat product than I thought it would be. The piece I tried had the thinneststreak of meat about the thickness of a sheet of thick paper only part way through the poece. It did have a slight acorn flavor from what I remember from when I was a kid and bit into an acorn....I don't know if that is good or bad.Well packaged and just right for those who need some tasty fat.

Discovering Lardo
Excellent and we discovered umpteen ways to use it ...for flavoring, grilling, baking, garnish, appetizers etc.. quite versatile!!

Size was not accurate
I received 2 small packages, each weighing 28 grams. This is no where near a lb. I feel ripped off. Sad.
