My body doesn't regulate its temperature well, so I easily get overheated. I bought this awesome little fan to keep at my computer desk in our home office, since the electronics can make the smallish room too warm.I love the retro look and the fact that it's constructed of metal instead of plastic. This fan is *very* powerful for its modest size. Due to its power, it's not as quiet as you might expect for a personal-sized fan. I tend to sit only 1-2 feet away from it. On low it provides quite a strong breeze, and at that power level, it has a soothing hum. On high, it's a little too revved up sounding for my tastes (a higher, slightly louder pitch), but it's not deafening by any means.Sure the fan isn't as cheap as some, but that's because it's a quality product made in the USA (Kansas). Quality costs more than junk, and yes, It costs more to manufacture here vs. China. I'm OK with paying more for something that creates and sustains American jobs!If you're looking at a fan in this size range, I highly recommend.

I own this fan in white and grey. as a fan it works great, moves plenty of air and operates quietly. all study materials which should last decades. design is top notch. very classy if this is your style. I use on my work desk to filter other outside noises and give a little breeze. one of the few things I allow to sit on my minimalist desktop. well we'll worry the extra cost over plastic alternative.

sturdy, quiet, powerful. quite small.I use this to blow air towards my home server setup (a decent number of machines and dust). this lil thing hasn't stopped. it can bend backwards past 270 degrees too! will buy another if this one ever breaks down. but I highly doubt it will!only short coming is it's legs/base. it's small and sturdy, but there isn't an easy way to mount it, you will need a solid, flat surface. not a big deal though.

Love this little fan! First off, it's beautiful. Such a nice retro design. Love the storm grey color. I ordered the version the wire stand. It's great and has little rubber balls that stick to the surface very well. Plus they are rubber, so no annoying little clickity-clackity nonsense or unstable footing. This is a big perk seeing as the old, yet comparable fan I owned had a hard plastic base and made such annoying noises.Love the switch mechanism and very impressed with the power of this little Vornado. My only grip is--only two speeds. I wish there was a third, less powerful setting. I place this fan on my bedside table (and it barely takes up any room which is amazing) as a source of white noise (as well as breeze). At first, I felt it was a little loud. I've gotten use to it now and like it very much, but still think a third, less powerful option would make it even better. So minus one star for that. Otherwise, it's perfect.

Heavy enough to anchor itself so no need to worry about movement during operation.The two preset speeds are at good power levelsNot completely silent but I don’t mind white noiseI use it on a computer desk. Cord is longer than average for a small fan but a few more feet would have been nice for my purposesGood value due to exceptional design and engineering, but you get what you pay for. A but pricey, but you’ll see why

It packed a powerful punch in its small design. Looks great, but has stopped working after only a few months. Started turning off randomly while it was on and now won’t turn on at all. Of course it happened after the return period ended.A dud.

This fan is a little bigger then expected, but not too big. I was looking for a new desk fan, and this came up in the search results. The price of $40 is a bit steep for such a small fan, but after receiving the item, i'm happy with my purchase. The entire fan casing is metal, not plastic. There is a low and high mode, both have a noticeable fan noise. I personally like the sound of a fan, so it doesn't bother me. The high mode is a bit loud, so far I've kept the fan on low and the air it blows is plenty cool. With this fan, the air is very direct and can still be felt at about 4ft away. The power cord is very long and has a built in fuse at the plug. The fan sits at about 8 1/2in tall so its not ideal to have in front of my monitors on my desk, I had to place it off to the side. My girlfriend liked it so much, so bought herself the Teal color fan with the solid base, for her desk.

As far as looks go, this is an attractive fan. It seems to be really well made and it’s sturdy. If you’re into looks and that’s important to you, here’s your fan.But, I live in Oklahoma and it’s summer, I need a fan’s fan. On low, this blew a bit of air and was quiet. On high, it blew more air and was loud. Either way, the hideous plastic dollar store fan works better as far as generating airflow for me.This fan has now been relegated to a small, mostly unused bathroom where it can be admired for its looks and occasional cooling abilities.If you need a bit of cooling in a small space and looks matter.. this is the way to go. It just wasn’t enough for me, even in a tiny space.
