Lovely to sketch with
Great for sketching on canvas before applying tinted gesso. I had tried other things like pencil, which ended up smudged, or black ink, which was too dark. With this set, I use sepia to match the sepia tinted gesso, or grey, when using grey tinted gesso. Works like a charm.

Pretty but not what I had hoped for.
These are very pretty soft colours, described as pastels, and while I would say true for most of the colours, there are a few that stand out as a little brighter than pastel and looks at odds besides the other colours. The colours don't show up as well when looking at them with the naked eye, my camera shows them slightly better, in person the Blue, Yellow and grey almost fade into the white background, and while, yes, pastels are light, they should still be noticeable in use, to be fair, layering the colours over a few times does produce a brighter shade. However, doing so makes your paper very wet, so much so that it starts to bleed through the other side, so for colouring book purposes, not as fit for purpose. The paper can feel very soggy eventually as though it may tear, I have this experience using my cheap inexpensive books, to my more quality high end colouring books.

Three Stars
Not as good as I was expecting. The brush nib lacks flexibility. However the colours are lovely.
