Q: Is it battery operated?

No - Receiver plugs into an AC outlet and the Transmitter connects to the low voltage line that powers the doorbell.

Q: Does the receiver need to be repaired if moved to a different power outlet or after a power failure?

we were in the 10%+ of purchasers who had problems and the unit quit working reliably after just a few weeks; moving and resyncing didn't resolve problems. Maybe you'll have better luck but we were really disappointed since it was one of the few perfect solutions available. It wouldn't even start working again when moved about 12 ft down the hall from transmitter. Troubleshooting definitely pointed to receiver as the issue and not transmitter as sync tone worked - and it just stopped "ringing" reliably.

Q: Does this work with 220v power? I mean the chime plugged into 220v power using adaptor for the plug compatability.

The sensor runs off 16V supplied by an existing doorbell, the chime plugs into a typical 110/120 outlet. Do not use with any higher voltage.
