No. It clearly says not to on the packaging. Its made up of recycled hardwood, nutshells, and molasses and most likely some chemicals...so i wouldnt

They may be 12 inches long and about as round as a large coffee cup. I don’t remove the paper packaging that they come in, so not sure if the size I gave you is real accurate. They can be cut if you need them smaller. I really like them because it is easier to build a fire in my fireplace with them than with kindling and newspaper! Good luck!

How do you extinguish the flame if you have to leave in a hurry?

these logs do not produce a roaring blaze....none of the product has ever 'popped" forward. We have a left a small remaining fire with our grill pulled across. Also, I burn my logs toward the back of the grate and have never had a problem

Can I use this in a gas fireplace?

NO. Per their Safety Instructions: "Not for use in wood stoves, airtight stoves, or GAS FIREPLACES."
