Q: Where is Bob's Red Mill Whole Grain teff GROWN/CULTIVATED?

Although Teff originates in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian govt has protectionist policies and does not export any Teff unless it has a huge surplus. For this reason, most of the Teff sold in the US, is grown in the US, in places like Kansas and a few other states, as a cover crop. I read this online. Bob's Red Mill brand uses only organic products from good sources.

Q: Can it be consumed straight out the pack, sprinkled on yogurt for example or does it have to be cooked?

It's tiny so I suppose you could sprinkle it on food but it would have to be lightly. I cook it and it resembles cream of wheat in flavor an texture which I love.

Q: Could I sprout this teff seed? Grow it?

I sprout quinoa, so why not. Don’t know about growing it.

No reason for it to be a GMO product - not commercial enough yet. The Teff grown at scale in Idaho is non-GMO - could find nothing on the manner (organic or not) in which it is grown.
