It looks to me to be a fake. The entire outing is of a hard plastic with flakes on inside. Its nothing like the photo

you can if you add jump ring and necklace chain... it will be chunky but pretty abd still function as designed.

Q: Does this come with a chain?

Yes, it does come with the chain, however the chain is very weak and defective. After gluing the tip back onto the pendulum, that was broken during delivery, I waited two days to use it and the chain broke. I guess we get what we paid for!
