Good addition for extra stability
I only used one of these to catch an extra mounting point. I believe most people mounting to joists should plan on needing these. I've got mine secured with 4 bolts on 2 joists and 2 bolts on one engineered beam. Very very sturdy mount.

Most home joist are installed 24” to center, so this expansion pack is most definitely necessary.

It should come with the spider bag mount - you pretty much have to have them, but they fit perfectly.

If your joists are more than 16” apart, you’ll need this.
They extended the mounting area of my spider mount, without compromising the strength.

Everything you need for wider spaced ceiling joists!
Very solidly built. Worked well on my wider spaced joists and is a nore sturdy and quick option then adding some 2x4’s. I do wish that these were included with the main mount and/or for this whole system to be less pricey, but this is a niche product from a small manufacturer so the price is understandable and the overall quality is excellent.
