I should have bought this one first
We had an electric fireplace that we had been using in our basement for years. We got it as a gift and it was great. Lately, it started having issues and it seems it was time to replace it. I started looking for a new one, put a few in my wishlist and ending up buying one that was highly recommended.....only to have it not work right out of the box. I returned it and went back to my wishlist. This was the next one I chose. This LifeSmart LifePro Electric Infrared Fireplace Heater looks almost identical to the one we were replacing and I honestly should have ordered it in the first place. Such a breeze it was! All I had to do was open the box, plug it in and viola! It works great! Our basement has 3 rooms with an open space and is about 900 square feet total. We do keep the door closed to one of the rooms but this heats the entire basement in under 20 minutes. It has 3 heat settings: 1000 watt, 1500 watt and eco. It also has an overheat and tip over switch. You can adjust the brightness for the flames and it has a digital thermostat with a 12 hour timer. It does come with a remote but so far, we haven't used it. It's also very elegant and easy to clean. We haven't had any issues with it feeling hot on the top so we are able to set a few small items on the mantle.I was a bit leery about getting the stone one but it's so beautiful that I'm glad I did. It's not real tall, sitting at a little over 2 feet, but that's perfect for the room we have it in. Anything much bigger would have been obnoxious. I'm so happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

So cozy and warm
I just purchased a new home and I sleep downstairs. I noticed it could get very cold down there so I purchased this fireplace. It keeps my room so warm and cozy. And it’s also beautiful to look at. I love it!

It is pretty. It heats a modest room
It is pretty. It heats a modest room. It is in our kitchen. It gives nice ambiance.Real wood, golden oak and matches our other cabinets nicely. It doesn't drythe air.The bulbs for lighting the area for flames are accessible and easilyreplaced when they burn out. The logs are okay, but they could be one loghigher because the existing logs are low in a tall space. Never the less theflames look good enough.Since we don't roll the fireplace from room to room my husband made avery sturdy oak base for it to sit in leaving the casters on. It works welland It raises it off the floor and looks more like a real fireplace. It doesn'ttip over easily at all. Still need to have enough air flow around it to not blockthe flow. It looks good. Also we can lift it out to clean or replace what is necessary. The fan is louder than I like. I wish the company would develop a quieterfan. I have yet to find that it goes on and off by itself when reaching room temp.I usually have to turn it back on. You have to turn the heat much higher thanthe room temperature you want, if you would like it to stay on for a while. I guessyou have to experiment with it. We have had it for over a month. So far it is good.

Don't waste your money
We got this for our 25' x 15' sun room that struggles to stay heated in the winter due to its relatively poor insulation. Despite the product being described as "large room" (with no specification whatsoever as to what that means), it is hopelessly inept at heating this moderately-sized room. What you get is essentially a toaster oven - 3 little heating elements and a 9" scroll fan pulling 1500W on the "high" setting. Even on the high setting, the heated air it produces is only mildly hot. At 44ºF outside, and with the thermostat set at 72ºF on the high setting, it succeeded in raising the temperature of our room from 55ºF to 60ºF after 6 hours. I am honestly surprised that there are any positive reviews for this product, as I can't see it being useful in any situation in which you would consider a space heater. It might work if you want to leave it and its 1.5 kW running 24 hours/day, but not for any room in which you just want to supplement central heat for a few hours.Besides that it doesn't really work, our unit had many other negative points:- When first turned on, the fan made an extremely loud rattling sound. Finally, I discovered that if I tilted it forward about 30º, the rattling noise disappeared and it only made the expected blowing sound. Still, I wouldn't call it "quiet"; it is about as noisy as a traditional space heater or floor fan.- The manual has an FAQ entry about the unit emitting a "strange odor" when new, which it says is due to the heat resistant coating. "Strange odor" doesn't qualify it adequately. It smells absolutely atrocious - a toxic type of smell (think wood treatment or burning plastic) that makes you wonder if it's safe for your pregnant wife and babies to be in the same house as the heater. There is no information provided on what chemical is used. This smell dissipated somewhat after several hours of use, but it is still present and unpleasant.- The wood trim is cheap, light oak-colored pressboard; it does not look as attractive as you might guess from the pictures.- The fireplace effect is just a few light bulbs shining off of a rotating mirror. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look great either. Don't buy this unit to impress your friends. The fireplace is completely superfluous in terms of heating, and since it represents most of bulk of the unit, and the unit doesn't heat very well anyway, I would strongly recommend just spending your money on a smaller, simpler, higher power space heater. The very few positive points:- The outside of the unit doesn't get hot. This is, of course, because it doesn't heat worth a flip.- The light bulbs and filter look to be easily replaceable.- The remote works well.- The grill over the control panel is solidly constructed of metal, and it folds down to hide or reveal the control panel - a nice touch.- The fan has a decently high flow rate for the amount of noise it produces; unfortunately it's nowhere near enough to cover a 25' x 15' room effectively.I'm mildly annoyed by the way this unit was advertised as "infrared", "quartz," etc. These words are intended only to confuse and make the product seem fancier than it is. First of all, what heater isn't an infrared heater? Second, the language is meant to obscure the fact that it just blows air over hot heating elements - like any other electric space heater. My wife used quartz infrared heating element technology to dry her hair just the other day.By the way, if for some reason you decide to buy this unit, make sure you can dedicate a 15-amp circuit to it; the product description should really list that requirement.

As described!
I really liked the fact that it was completely assembled. All I had to do was plug it in! The box was heavy, but this 83 year old grandmother managed to "walk it" into the house and get the box open and get it set up - heavy for me to handle, but I did it!!! Yes, it is a little small, but I live in a patio home and don't really have room for a big one, so this one is perfect! I also had seen some comments about the bad smell, so I almost didn't order it because of that. However, there was hardly any odor at all when I turned it on and none now that I have noticed.

Costs much less in electricity since it’s infrared. Needs its own dedicated outlet
Takes awhile to heat up a room since it’s infrared, but once it does it’s warm. Doesn’t use as much electricity as other ceramic heaters. Needs its own dedicated outlet or it will shut off
