Beware that audio devices with 2.5mm TRRS balanced outputs are not designed to work with adapters such as this. This adapter shorts the "-" signal of both left and right signals together to work with TRS connections.To you audiophiles claiming to hear a cable...BS! Perceived "quality" of components is a plecebo for you. No way could you pass a double blind test to prove your golden ears!

VERY High Quality
REALLY spectacular quality! I have a Cayin N5 portable audio player that has a 'balanced' output jack on it. I have a pair of Shure SE846 IEMs (In Ear Monitors) and a Moon Audio Silver Dragon (custom) cable that has a 3.5mm TRRS plug on it. The N5 has a 2.5mm TRRS jack on it so I needed an adapter. This adapter/cable works PERFECTLY and I could not be happier with the result.Update: I've been using this adapter/cable for a few weeks now and have been running some tests, playing an assortment of DSD128 music files on my Cayin N5 (via the balanced output) through the Silver Dragon cable and the HGC balanced TRRS 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter/cable. I've been swapping out the HGC adapter with a very cheap, straight 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter; no wires between the plug and the jack, just a straight, metal adapter similar to the very common 3.5mm (1/8") to 6.35mm (1/4") adapter we typically get with headphones. I purchased the straight adapter on another site and it was REALLY cheap (less than 5 bucks).What I discovered is I CAN hear a difference, and it's NOT subtle. I even had an audiophile buddy of mine come over and I ran some blind tests on him, swapping out the HGC adapter cable for the cheapo straight adapter, and even HE could hear a difference. We used my SE846 IEM for the tests. Then I connected my Cayin N5 to the Cayin C5 portable headphone amp I purchased (on Amazon) and plugged my AKG K712 Pro cans into the amp. The difference was even MORE audible using the AKG cans. Amazing!So, this adapter/cable is for REAL and is of even higher quality than I originally suspected it was. I used to think that custom cables (like the Silver Dragon) were mostly hype, at least until I bought one and used it with my Shure SE846 IEMs. The difference in the sound quality and resolution between the stock Shure cable and the Silver Dragon was/is STRIKING. It makes a HUGE difference and the HGC adapter/cable ALSO makes a noticeable difference, at least when compared to a cheap adapter.If you're hesitating because of the price of the HGC adapter/cable, DON'T! It's for real, it's worth every penny and when used with a high quality cable (like the Silver Dragon), you'll get the full benefit of BOTH. HIGHLY recommended!

Well built, solid and flexible adapter. If you need the reverse, just ask the vendor huanggancheng who will kindly do it for you, even if the product is not listed ! That's what I did...Great product, great vendor !
