Q: Is there a difference between discontinued one?

It's the same amount of cards as the last Out of the Box version. However the cards are slightly larger, the customer cards have a white border around them that wasn't' present in the original, and the box is a normal box with insert where the discontinued version was a tuck box where the insert slid in and out. It's also worth noting there are two discontinued stand-alone expansions Elixer and Party Potion that are not compatible with the new Hasbro version.

Q: Does this game end up feeling too clean for a group of college age students? cah is sometimes too vulgar, but apples to apples is too clean and boring

There's nothing flat out vulgar in this game; however, once in awhile if you get the right cards you can make it that way. My husband and I do this sometimes and it goes right over our kids' heads, yet makes it a little more fun for us. Overall i think it's a fun game for any age!
