I wanted to have 2 computers share a common keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The monitor has separate inputs from each computer, so I really only needed a switch for the USB connection for the keyboard and monitor (not a KVM switch). This device accepts only one USB input and switches it to one of two USB output connectors. My keyboard has a USB connector for the mouse, so the USB cable from the keyboard carries the signals from both the keyboard and mouse. The device mechanically switches this input to one of the USB cables going to the two computers. So simple and very effective. No extra bulky video cables I didn’t need. No power connector needed. Perfect solution for a simple problem. Other devices advertised 4 inputs with indicator lights. This device has only one input, and front panel push buttons for the two outputs. When one button is pushed in, the other button pops out, so you can easily see which output is selected, by looking at the buttons. All the connections are on the back, and the push buttons are on the front. I looked at many competing products that had more features that I needed, and most of them had one undesirable feature or another. This one is perfect for the situation I described. I love it.

Needed a A/B switch for our 2 computers one printer setup. Purchased this item . It worked right out of the box. I liked that it came with 2 cables. Very simple setup 2 computers in 1 cable out to the printer. Now I do not have to switch cables to print, all I have to do is push the button to reflect which computer I wish to print from. I am impressed with this item.

I received it about a week ago, super simple to set up! The best part is you can either switch to whichever computer or both at the same time. I highly recommend buying this product, easy to order, easy setup and installation. A must product!

This device helps me connect two old desk top computers to one laser printer. I keep one of the computers because it has some legacy software on it that I cannot transfer to another computer. Once in a while I need to run that software and this device allows to print out a project without the need for a separate printer, all at a push of the button.

This product was purchased in order to have to laptops be able to hardwire print. By pushing the button between with laptop we wanted to use. Unfortunately, the product never worked correctly for one of the laptops. Sometimes it would even start printing multiple pages (10-20) of nothing but symbols and numbers while we were trying to print out something else. I would not recommend this product to anyone and I have been trying to return it with no luck! Very bad product.

My wireless AIO printer recently reached the end of it's life cycle and I remembered I had an equally elderly but never used wired AIO in storage, so I brought it out and put it into service. Unfortunately I occasionally need to print from my laptop as well as my desktop and switching the cable bew=tween the two was a hassle. Enter this handy device, the origins of which goes back to my earliest days in the IT world, a sharing switch. These come in many variations but this is the simplest. It connects two devices to one printer. A cable goes from an available USB port on each computer to an input on the back of the switch while a third cable (output) goes to the printer. When I wish to print from my desktop, I elect button 1 on the front of the box and I use the 2nd button for my laptop. Obviously both devices cannot print at the same time but one could start a print job and then the other could add theirs to the printer queue and it would print afth=er the first had completed.It is small, compact and seems quite durable and came with two cables, the assumption being that you already have one cable connecting the computer to an existing device. It was well, but efficiently packed and in perfect condition when it arrived. The installation was extremely simple and totally plug and play. I highly recommend both the gadget itself and this particular as well.

Im no longer pulling my hair out, searching for a better solution, to sharing printer with multiple laptops and a desktop, also. Wish I had found out about this simple device, a decade ago. Very simple. I like that its a simple push button, and it is not powered, so no power cord or outlet are required. I push button 1, to print from the desktop, or button 2, to print from one of our laptops. Printing is so much faster, not using bluetooth, and more secure. To help with the first connection, plug in the printer, to the usb connection, on the switch. Use the cables, that come with this switch, to finish the other connections. Simple
