Good choice for expanding knowledge of ASL
I wanted to continue teaching my (hearing) 17 month old granddaughter sign language. She knows more than 20 signs already using Baby Einstein's "First Signs" DVD, and "Talking Hands" DVD. She is now learning her colors, and names of food so this DVD of "Favorite Things" met my needs. The Pros:Nice mix of songs, live action, cartoon frog, and different age children signing and talking including Rachel's daughter, Leah, who is deaf. Rachel's use of color coding her fingers, and simple explanations of each sign is very helpful.Cons:While the 30 minutes run time on the DVD is perfect for showing during meal times, and snack times, I feel the cost is a little high compared to other educational DVDs. The number of signs covered on each DVD is not that many unless you include the ones used during songs etc. However, as long as my granddaughter continues to show an interest in learning sign language I will continue to purchase new DVDs.

Signing Time Volume 6
I enjoy all of the Signing Time videos. I have a 3 and 4 year old. Both have been watching the show for about 2 years. At the beginning they would pick up a few words and we would work on it. Then we stopped for awhile because we hadn't been watching the show. We now have a DVD in our van. The videos are just long enough to get us where we need to go and be able to finish (about 30 minutes). I am starting to buy the collection of Signing Time DVDs for them to watch. We are choosing educational videos for the van versus movies/cartoons. I rate this one up there with Blue Planet which is awesome. I currently have 4 Signing Time videos including 2 Baby Signing Time. Me and my kids sing all of songs on these videos and sign. My children are using most of the words and go out of their way to use them. It is wonderful and I am so pleased to have found such a useful tool.

Another Great DVD!
This was the second dvd I bought for my 15 month old daughter. I bought volume 1 originally. My daughter loves this dvd the most, I think the fruit and veggie song catches her attention. :) Rachel Coleman does such a great job singing and signing so genuinely and effortlessly. While I think the first volume is what I would suggest to anyone looking into buying their first Signing Time! dvd, this dvd is great as well. The signs that are taught are very helpful and my daughter has learned over 30 signs between this volume and the first one. I enjoy these dvd's immensely myself. The songs are totally engaging, the repetition of the signs is helpful but not boring. I like seeing how other children do their signs, so that I can get a working knowledge of the variation in the way children will sign. I have just recently bought four more of the dvd's because they've been so educational and positive in my little family. :)

All babies and the adults in their lives should be taught American Sign Language. The
The videos are done so well and Rachel is awesome! American Sign Language is taught using songs, children, and cute animations to repeat, numerous times and in several ways, how to make a sign and what it means. My granddaughter LOVES watching these videos! She has been watching and learning since she was 11 months old. Today she turned 18 months old and it is rare for her not to be able to communicate her wants/needs and thoughts to us. Knowing sign language has enriched all of our lives and especially our relationships with our little one.

She's great!
I recentely bought two of her DVDs because they were highly recommended from his daycare, then i read all the reviews on this website and i was amazed how many good things they had to say about her DVDs. I would love my son to learn this beautiful language, so i decided to learn along with him. Well let me tell you that most everybody was correct, she's great!! and i love her songs, so we both sit and learn. I love the fact that real kids are doing the sign language, and i'm sure that my two year old loves to see that too. I would like to see more words added to it, but well it's great. I recommend this product/

My daughter loves these
My 18-month old started watching signing time when she was a year. They are her favorite go-to show to watch and she picks up on the signing very fast. It helps he be much more patient because she can express herself and her wants/feelings.

I highly recommend this series!
I took sign language in college and learned the value of it immediately. When I had my daughter I immediately started using a few signs and found that she picked up eat and more at about 5 months. Then I found the Signing Times DVD's. I was so excited so I bought them all and started watching them with my daughter. These DVD's are the best thing I have bought for my daughter! She is 2-1/2 now and knows about 60 signs! I have never really had a problem with temper tantrums and our communication is wonderful! Plus she speaks so clearly already. I am very proud of her! I would recommend these videos to anyone - with or without children. They make learning some sign language fun!

I can pass on the love of signing to my grand children even though I'm ...
I applaud the Signing Time family for all their hard work. These videos are a life savers for so many of us who havedeaf in the family and need to encourage our family members to learn sign language. As a native signer, due to my twinsister being deaf, I tired of having everyone ask me constantly how to sign this and how to sign that. Now, I can pass on the love of signing to my grand children even though I'm not present.
