A simple solution to add lighting where there’s no existing wiring. You can attach these practically anywhere and have them operating in minutes. We’ve been using this Mr. Beams model (as well as other models) for many years and it’s the only brand we use now. We have not had a single failure or issue such as corroded batteries, and we recently purchased additional ones for a new outbuilding. It’s designed to last years, unlike many products nowadays with the market flooded with low quality Chinese imitations/look-a-likes priced a few dollars less, but in the end don’t last or perform as promised.This particular model has many uses indoors and out. Being battery-operated, it’s not designed to provide flood-like illumination, but does provide sufficient lighting for most needs. The lights are designed to stay on for 20 seconds after it detects movement, and will stay on longer if it continues to detect movement. Vehicles and Animals will also trigger the lights. It's not highly sensitive to things like moving tree branches, unless they are too close. I would estimate the color/temperature of the LED lights to be around 4,000 Kelvin--not yellow but not bluish or “daylight” either.It comes ready to use out of the box; just add batteries. Other than that, there are no replaceable parts or adjustments other than the 2 articulating lights. It's designed for mounting on a vertical surface, and for outdoor use preferably under an eave, though it’s not necessary. It comes w/3 GP screws to attach the mounting plate. I use sheet metal screws or wood screws depending on where they're mounted. I bought this because the reviews were good and the price was fair, but I was dubious about the 4 D batteries requirement. However the sensor is sensitive enough, and 3 months later the light is still bright, and the unit withstands heavy rain and wind with no problems.

I loved the ease of installation, the fact that it is motion-sensor and battery-operated (no need for solar energy, it’s in a dark place!), and the fact that it is bright and with adjustable light direction. It lights up my back door area at night when I walk past, and stays on just long enough. Highly recommend!

We purchase several times of lights (all battery operated) to put in our long driveway to cover different spots needing different areas of coverage. As battery operated lights go and considering the price, this was my favorite of the battery operated ones. We like our Solar ones best and they cost much less, but those can't go in our driveway because it has a long 50' cover over it.These lights were easy to install, and work like a champ. What we really like about this particular model is 1) the area of coverage AND 2) the fact that you can easily move each side of the light independently of the other to shine the side lights in different directions and angles. The sensor is stationary in the middle. You just need to figure out for your own situation just how wide an angle of motion it will detect. For us, we installed it about 10' high and about 12-15' in from the street side of the driveway so it wouldn't go off with passing cars. The lower the height -- the lower the angle of motion detection. The lights are BRIGHT but not as bright or blinding as the floodlights on our back door, and for us, that's a good thing because of how we use them. We have them pointed such that they light up the entire area around my husbands car so when he gets home at night, the lights go off when he first pulls in the drive and before he gets out of the car. In our drive, that's important as we've had some crime here in driveways without proper lighting with thieves laying in wait by bushes along driveways. Their brightness is just right and he can clearly see all around the car and along the driveway when he gets out. We installed these quite a while ago and the batteries still work fine (6 mos or so). They only go off when there is motion and at the height we have them, we haven't had a problem with them going off from animals at night. We would buy these again.

I bought one of these lights to light up the stairs on our back deck that lead down to the backyard. I noticed my dog is a little afraid of the dark and would decide to go on the deck at night unless I came along with a flashlight. I love the ability to change the angle and direction of each light independently. I have one set up almost straight down to light the stairs, and one pointed out to the area of the yard our dog uses at night.The brightness of the lights is pretty impressive for being so small and battery-powered. My stairs are totally lit up, and the yard is plenty bright. Any brighter and it would almost be too much.The motion detection is spot on, seems to have a pretty wide range. I needed this to be able to come on as I walk up from the side, and it works perfectly. It light up the moment I get to the top of the stairs, but I think I’ll try mounting it a bit higher – I’m basically above the unit.So the only thing I was worried about after reading reviews was whether or not it would be weatherproof – I live in an area where it snows. I’m guessing issues happen from imperfections in the seal. I installed the batteries and hit the seal area with a bead of silicone. Once it was closed up I ran my thumb along the seam to clean up the excess. It isn’t the pretties but it looks like it’ll help.Not that it super important, but the unit looked pretty black when I was making the purchase. When I looked at it in the sun after installing it I noticed it has a brownish finish. I think the listing called this out, just couldn’t tell from the photos.

These things are great for those areas that have no light or need additional lighting. I have had 3 of these lights installed for about 2 years now. I live in a rainy area and I have no issues with water getting to the lights. The sensor works flawlessly and is still working, the illumination is great as well, the LED lights definitely light up a big area. Another bonus, in two years I have not had to replace the batteries, so is a nice surprise with these lights.

Der Beams Strahler ist sehr hell und reagiert auch schon wenn man in die Nähe des Strahlers kommt. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem Strahler. Ich hatte zuvor einige andere ausprobiert, entweder gingen sie nicht oder waren dunkel.

Light output is not that bright but enough to cover an area of about 6 feet. But 1 of the light acts wonky when a fresh set of batteries was installed. Keeps turning on and off even when there's no activity which will drain the battery faster

Was easy to mount, very bright which is good. You feel like a deer in the headlights in the middle of the night.The strength of the light hasn't waned in over 2 months of use which is good (as the batteries slowly deplete).
