Bought two to remove the rusty top nut on a shock absorber. Flimsy screw guide snapped immediately on both, then twisted while trying to tighten the wedge. Both went in the garbage, should have bought a Dremel cutoff wheel to begin with.

OK tool works after doing a few things - the set screw broke during the first use pulled it apart and ran the tool stop to stop with WD40 cleaned it greased the threads/junction replaced the set screw now it works fine - inexpensive so not a big deal seems to be made somewhat well just a bit rough.

Use on small nuts that aren’t hardened for best results
It worked for about one but then the blade flattened out luckily I’m a mechanic and had other tools that got the job done

Does it's job, but the set screw broke on the first try.
The nut splitter has a set screw that keeps the splitting wedge lined up. Took all of one attempt for the set screw to break and allow the wedge to rotate. Now I have to hold the wedge in the upright position as I tighten it which isn't the easiest thing to do. It still splits the nut so I cannot say it does not function. I can probably get a replacement set screw or send it in under the life time warranty. If you need a tool like this, it will work but you may find it frustrating to use if the set screw breaks.

I actually use this for a front sight pusher for my Swiss K31 rifle. I don't know if it spits nuts, but it moves my front sight!
