I don't get it
I feel like I've fallen for they hype surrounding these IEMs. Of the 4 or 5 audio sites I checked when researching these, all I could find were gushing reviews waxing lyrical about the quality of the sound. Those glowing reviews and the absolutely reasonable price tag made me impulse buy the KZ ZSX's. Boy was I disappointed when they arrived...I'll preface this by stating I am by no means informed when it comes to IEMs. My preference is for large, comfortable, over-ear headphones and I have several pairs of both open and closed back. I thought a well-regarded pair of IEMs would be just the thing for throwing in my coat pocket to use with my DAP and much better suited for travelling than my large Beyer Dynamics and the like. I'll also add to this that I mostly listen to 24-bit FLACs through decent (but not ridiculous) equipment. That said, my heart sank when I plugged in the ZSX's and played a few tracks which I know inside out. All I hear is treble, treble and more treble. Remember the first time you got a Walkman for Christmas in the 80's and you spent a good half hour playing with different EQ settings by sliding the faders to different extremes? Well imagine playing a song and setting the bass and mids to 0 and treble to maximum. That's what these sound like to me. Thin, tinny and lacking anything below 2.5kHz it seems. Don't get me wrong, the sound being produced is crystal clear - no distortion, no hiss, no obnoxious frequencies. However, I find myself trying far too hard to set up the EQ at source to make these sound half decent and that's not something I want to spend my time doing. I'd rather be enjoying the music.I fell for the reviews and I'm annoyed at myself for believing the hype. I don't think they're bad, but these are certainly not the aural experience I was looking for.

Great sound, lovely bass response
These in ears are very comfortable, they have a wonderful bass response, deep and full. The leads which clip into the ears are secure and tight and the lead length is nice and long.I'm a professional bass player and have been using in ears since 1997, 25 years. These have the best depth for bass frequency of any in ears I've used, there have been many. I've A/B them alongside my sure generics and they are not as crisp in the high end frequencies but they are much warmer and smooth sounding which bodes well for long periods of listening during an all day rehearsal and a gig. Ones ears can get tired and sound saturated in the last 30 minutes of a 90 minute show as the musicians tend to play harder as the gig goes along. Although I've yet to use them in a gig or rehearsal setting, I'm looking forward to trying them out.Overall, value for money is excellent, along with the sound and build quality.

Sound that send shivers down my spine
Didn't expect much for the price, I knew they were good based on the reviews but nothing prepared me for what happened next, I've put them on and wow, just wow... Holy Mother of God, these are the best earphones I have ever listened to (so far), I'm blown away, separation is excellent, soundstage is amazing, bass digs deep, highs are clear and not tiring, I'm listening on my phone (galaxy s7) sound is just mind blowing, there is no need for external amp as at 75% volume they're loud, very loud. Best money ever spent

Brings life to recorded sound on iPod
Brings life to recordings that I have played for years. Clarity in the high frequencies, and produces a classical piano sound to perfection. Could have projected the bass a little more but that's my 74 year old ears to blame. Brilliant buy for price. Get them!

Leaves my Bose QC35s in the dirt
Unbelievable sound quality for the price, superb clarity and dynamic range and incredibly comfortable (i was most nervous about the comfort, as that to me is a key importance) I could see them not working for all ear types, but if they work for yours, you are on to a winner and you will never look back.My father tried them and is thinking of ordering a pair to replace his Bose Sound Sport. His only dislike was a lack of Bass (I don't think they are lacking that much in this area personally, but thought it was worth mentioning) for £48 you really cant go wrong here. The true tell will be how well they hold up quality wise over time, they seem to be of a high quality, so am impressed thus far!
