Quality paper for charcoal drawing
This product has a pretty deep tooth for grabbing the charcoal. Make sure to watch the light value areas, as it can be difficult to remove enough charcoal to really lighten an area. Excellent quality though.

Very thin paper, not perforated
I was disappointed by this paper. I am still learning about the differences between various types of art papers, but with Strathmore I thought that the highest quality was their 500 series. It's certainly their most expensive. This is very thin. It wrinkles very easily. And the pad is spiral bound, but the paper isn't perforated, so if you want a nice edge you have to cut it.I did like how charcoal drew on it, but I've been much happier with other papers.

Super thin, yellowish color. Horrible!
The media could not be loaded. This paper is unbelievably thin and flimsy feeling. In order to frame a picture done on this paper you would have to tape all the way around on the back of the mat to attempt to keep it flat. I don't believe even that would work. Besides that the color "natural" apparently means dirty, dingy yellow. I am very disappointed in this paper and will never buy again.

Great quality paper, but don’t like how pages are removed.
Given this is archival and acid free and pricey, you’d think it would be better than a cheap notebook lined pad that you have to rip off from the spiral itself. It’s easy to dent the paper ripping it off.No perforations, no fold over or even glued pages. You have to rip it out and then of course, make a squared even cut yourself. I can see that for budget paper, but not for this brand. Come on Strathmore, you can do better. That’s the reason for 4 stars. I should never assume a quality brand would not make you rip out pages when purchasing.

... thin and you only get 24 sheets its a pretty thin pad
because the paper is so thin and you only get 24 sheets its a pretty thin pad, as a result when they shrink wrap the pad the corners tend to round or squish slightly which i havent seen in more substantial padsin saying that the paper itself is good quality and i will be experimenting with different 400/500 series pads in the future.
