Q: Will this fit the inside of the j hotend at the heat break?

I'm not specifically familiar with the j hotend, but this has worked well for me to replace any ptfe tubing in hotends/bowdens/etc. intended for 1.75mm filament.

Q: If this tubing is placed in a shallow routed channel on the topside of a wooden case will it support a glass table top or will it collapse in shortly?

The best answer I can give us maybe. The tubing is quite stiff and should support the glass, but it would depend on the size or weight of the glass.
