I needed to raise the height of the shower head. I'm about 5'5". I have a small shower and the original shower head was not right for me. My head & hair got soaked but I couldn't step back far enough to get everything wet, lathered and rinsed.The previous owner had installed a nice fixture but the tilt of the hose & head didn't have enough wiggle room to make the angle right for me. The size & shape of this riser did the trick, cost a lot less than a new set up, and has plenty of space for adjustment. Reasonable price too. Nice finish and easy to install. The hardest thing was getting the original shower head pipe loose!

Solved my problem with height!
I didn't buy this to use directly to a rainshower head. I use one of those bendy flexible Water-Pik shower heads, the kind on the long flexible tube with multiple water settings? The problem I needed to solve was that the pipe coming out of the wall was low that I had to have very tight bends in the flexible tube to raise the actual shower head to a good height. The tight bends would create kinks in the water's path, restricting the flow. I installed this riser pipe and now it all is working perfectly and NO LEAKS!! It was so easy to install and it looks great, very solidly made.

Had a little problem with it screwing into the shower and tightening up at the right place. But I got it to work and I have no problems now.
