Shin-Etsu is the ONLY thermal compound I let touch my processor.
Shin-Etsu is the finest thermal compound I have ever used. It keeps temperatures low and it lasts a very long time. This is industrial grade Japanese manufactured silicon paste, and whether you're air cooling or water cooling, expect excellent performance. Don't waste your time with other "popular" brands. This is the stuff you want. Check the comparison studies for yourself and see: during system load, Shin-Etsu runs the coolest.

Old paste.
I put this paste on 2 months ago and had to remove heatsink to reset CMOS (itx mobo). When I removed heatsink I noticed that this paste had not spread at all. I was getting high temps but thought it was because of poor ventilation. The paste it's self was hard and had not spread at all. I think I got an old batch. I am now using a different paste and have much better results.

Great Temps
This is a thicker paste and comes with a plastic card to spread it. Works well, and temps are low. Used this to replace Arctic Silver.Would buy again.
