Great replacement motor
My A/C had crashed and this motor did the job. I was up and running as soon as it was delivered. I installed it with no problem and it has been working fine without a hitch.

Doesn't hold up. Disappointed
I replaced this motor last year, 2023, with a new OEM fan prop, just in case the existing fan prop was off balance. Didn't want the bearings to take a beating.Started up in 2024, the motor is noisy and sounds like bearing noise. My original motor was twenty years old and still operating, I figured I would drop a new motor for some peace of mind.I was a HVAC tech for 20 years. Change the contactor often and also run the capacitor. Disappointed.

Not threaded for mount bolts.
This motor meets all the specs of the one it's intended to replace. However, it is NOT the OE motor pictured by GE genteq. It is made by Service First OEM. After doing a lot of research, I was able to find documents from Trane showing that Service First OEM does provide this motor directly to Trane distribution centers. So it is approved by Trane. The other issue I had, as others have stated, is that the four mounting holes were not threaded. Fixing that required a 5mm tap and tapping all for holes takes less than 5 minutes. Installation is easy for anyone with any electrical or mechanical experience or an average DIYer.

You will need above average skills to install
Safely and securely packaged. Pretty speedy delivery considering current COVID crisis. Replacing a condenser fan is not overly challenging, but does have its share of potential pitfalls for an average DIYer. This did fit a 10 year old Trane XR13 ac. Do keep in mind it’s best to have a tapping tool handy to thread the non threaded pilot holes for new motor mounting and installation. Also note you will be tapping into cheap and thin cast metal plate. Don’t over torque the bolts into the newly threaded holes or you will be looking at transferring motor housing from the old motor to the new and they may not match up at all. Again it’s an accomplishable task and takes about an hour. Be safe

Not too hard of an install!
Mounting holes have to be tapped out to a 10-32 thread size. It helps to have another set of hands when running wires thru the conduit.
