appears like a very good chuck
I have not used this yet but it looks like an excellent chuck. It has a place to put a wrench to hold when titghtening if the drill isn't a geared model or for removing the chuck. The teeth have hardened raised smaller teeth on them like my Milwaukee OEM chuck has - it works excellent and holds as well as a keyed chuck. Use will tell, but it appears to be a well engineered chuck. It is made by Metabo and comes in a box with German markings.

A well designed chuck
Bought this chuck to replace one on a brand name 18V drill that was exhibiting slippage problems from day one. The Metabo chuck is well designed with excellent gripping capabilities. I've used it with regular drill bits and Forstner bits with no slippage. For extra difficult jobs where slippage can occur the chuck is designed to allow a user to tighten it even farther with a wrench. I have drills with keyless chucks from DeWalt, Makita, and Jacobs. For me the Metabo is better then any of them.

excelent replacement
You can tell by the weight and construction of the unit the quality is good. the name Metabo is like saying COCA COLA in Latin America and now I know why. I first came acquainted with it when building a house in Costa Rica. Like it to the point of ordering another one for my other drill. The fit perfectly on my Porter Cable units

Stops holding drill bits after a few weeks
Can't tighten it enough by hand so as to keep bits secure and tight.Would never buy frmo Metabo again.
