Q: For the blue brake wire, do you hook that up to the positive wire to the brake light??

It's the positive brake wire . But know if you hook it up. Even with the light kit off it will work anyway. So even with the switch in the OFF position the leds will still glow red when the brake is on

Q: My lights are two months old and they don’t work the controller get super hot an I think it burned out

Possibly bad placement of controller or defective. I have not had any issues
