LimbSaver Classic Slip-On Recoil Pad, 1" LOP, Easy Install, Reduce Recoil and Increase Accuracy of Follow-Up Shots, Black

I purchased this limbsaver pad for a Remington 700 5R chambered in 300WM, When purchasing the rifle I had a hard time deciding between the .308 and the .300WM but like any man I went for the more powerful version, The rifle is not really built for hunting. It is heavy, I mounted a huge scope on it..etc. I built it for long range shooting and maybe occasional hunting if need be, at the range when you are putting a box of ammo down range the recoil can be rough on the shoulder and I was enjoying shooting it less and less to finally just having to put it away. I decided to order this and give it a try, Once I got the pad I just slipped it onto the butt of the rifle which it fit perfectly and actually, the extra LOP puts me right where I really want to be so that was a nice addition.I was able to take the rifle out and shoot it yesterday and with the first shot I was very impressed at how much the recoil was reduced. Shooting from a prone position I put 10 rounds through the gun with not one bit of discomfort at all which means that I do not have any tendency to flinch and I find it also much easier to keep the target in my field of view through the scope whereas before it would bounce back enough to throw me off. I am very pleased with the product and I will probably look into getting one for my shotgun as well. The pad blends in with my stock much better than the photo on this page because it is a black and green synthetic, so honestly I don't think it looks bad on there. It is a soft rubber so it does not slide on surfaces as easily as the factory pad.. Harder to get in and out of my foam case.If you are afraid to buy one of these because you think people will make fun of you at the range.. You know.. real men don't need one of those...blah blah blah... It does not matter who you are, if you can reduce the amount of felt recoil and make the gun more comfortable to shoot you are going to shoot better with it.

I have a 24-firearm surplus collection. Most of the rifles, but not all, are large caliber firearms. One is a conversion 12G shotgun which kicks like a horse.The LimbSaver is a great addition to make firing my rifles less of a chore. On a normal day if I fired 20-30 rounds of 8mm Mauser I'd be in pain, but with the LimbSaver the recoil is limited without affecting the mechanics of the rifle. It's been a worthwhile purchase for the larger calibers and I wouldn't go without it.I purchased the largest size but sometimes it still has some trouble getting around certain buttstocks. That being said, I've had no issue fitting it so far. It's been a great purchase.

I bought this in Small size to slip onto a Hogue stock for a Ruger 10/22. Not to tame the punishing recoil of the .22 Long Rifle big game cartridge, but to increase the length of pull on the otherwise Junior-sized stock. The Limbsaver is the only slip-on I could find available in a small enough size to fit the Hogue. Despite the Hogue stock being just barely big enough to work according to the Limbsaver size specs, it fits without any unwanted side to side or up/down movement. the increased length helps me get the eye relief I need to see thru my riflescope. And I am sure the thick, incredibly cushy limbsaver recoil reduction material will save me from the painful bruising associated with rapid .22 fire.

Fit perfectly on my Bergara B-14 Ridge in 300wm. Makes the recoil more manageable without taking from the accuracy.

I bought this pad for my 1917 Enfield with the original military stock and have now used it for over 2 years. The pad works great from a functional standpoint of reducing felt recoil. I bought the small size based on the guidelines given for the butt dimensions of the stock. However, the tear-drop shape of the pad, which is typical for sporter rifles, does not really fit the butt shape of the old military stock which is almost rectangular (i.e., nearly as wide a the bottom as it is at the top). Thus, I find the bottom of the pad slipping sideways during use and I continually have to readjust it to keep it centered. Anyone buying the Limbsaver pad for an old military rifle style stock should be aware of this fit limitation.
