Not bad
Good game overall, but the tutorial section is over with waaaay too quickly. The second you do what it wants you to do, it's on to the next skill. It doesn't give you time to get used to the one you just learned. The monster trucks steer from the rear wheels as well- makes it easy to cut donuts and to get back upright when you topple over. There are arena battles (the best part of the game) and open-worlds where you can just drive around and do whatever. I don't really care for those parts- I'm an old-school gamer who likes more structure to a game. Give me an objective (win a race, crush however many cars, etc) and it's fun. Wandering around with no particular purpose gets boring after awhile.

Okay - Needs some serious work
I really did want to like this game as an older fan of the Monster Jam franchise, and a player of various vehicle driven games.Unfortunately the developers really need to look over some things instead of just consistently creating games way too similar to older versions.Pros-I really appreciate the fact that we finally receive more open world terrains instead of just races/tracks/events. There's nothing more I wanted to do than drive an actual Monster Jam truck on an open map with no events or timers. Just drive.Cons-Unfortunately with that being said... the open terrain maps themselves feel way too conjested and limited for a game consisting of large vehicles.I was more on the terms of hoping for maps somewhat ranging to the size of maps like on MX vs ATV. Open with various sites and plenty to explore. The open outdoor maps on Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 are way too small and become stale after a day of playing. The stadium maps themselves... well they're just stadium maps. You go in, do your events, and that's it.Pros:Vechicles look great - though could be a tad wider because they are slanky/thin from the top/back angle. These guys should look massive and built... not thin.Colors, parts, and bodies look amazing and vivid!Cons:Behave nothing like a monster truck.Everything from the weight to the driving and physics feel weird. The trucks themselves feel as light as ever when driving, lacking any weight and often times flipping uncontrollably when driving over the smallest rut or tiny hill. This alone makes any sort racing event in the game frustrating beyond all levels.-And of course the AI your going up against is either a pro or they try their absolute hardest to tail swipe you sending your truck to fly off to the side flipping at least 6 to 7 times. Then you reset... not where you left off... but you reset further back than where you originally left off. So if you were in first - you're now in last.Plus... the lack of weight and intense speed of trucks in the game makes things even more unbearable.Cons:Still no truck creator or customization.I yearn for an actual Monster Jam game that lets you design and build your own truck. Everything from a livery editor, individual parts, wheels, tires, shocks, motor, body style, etc.Why are we still waiting on this? Sure it's great driving as the trucks from the series, but there are times where I want to feel like I'm actually apart of the series too. I can only drive as Blue Thunder so many times before it becomes boring. If we could get a game that has The Crew 2's livery customization, MX vs ATV's part builder, and fixed Monster Jam physics... we'd really be onto something.***At this point I feel like most of Monster Jams franchise is geared more toward kids. -And that's cool... but there are adults and older fans too.Unfortunately games like this are only fun for a day. When the physics themselves and lack of creative content still don't exist... it's mainly just any old previous Monster Jam game.Of course the younger generation doesn't really care about the knitty gritty details, but it's very noticeable to any older fan and someone who's grew up playing video games. It could also be the fact that Monster Jam isn't as popular as it used to be imo. Maybe they just figure it's not worth the amount of money and time to invest into something that isn't very big anymore.-But at least one good game in production would be a good project or start to something.I really hope to see progress from the developers in the future of 2022 and further on.Monster Jam definitely needs and deserves a game that makes you feel apart of things.... while giving a realistic experience of monster truck driving.
