Love This Little Time Saver
How did I not know about this? Since acquiring this pull-chop, I've been making the best chicken salad, which heretofore I'd been laboriously shredding by hand. I also use it to chop nuts; the pieces won't be uniform, but I'm usually tossing them in a salad or using them as a yogurt topping. I love how easy it is to clean and, as a testament to my loving this gadget, I keep it looking brand new and housed in its box. I've already bought another for my sister and recommended it to others. Two words of caution: the blades are extremely sharp, so do not put them in the sink as I inadvertently did one day and got a nasty cut, and do not cut peppers or celery too fine or your salad will end up watery. Maybe real cooks know this, but, well, I seem to have to learn everything through trial and error.

This is a 50 star plus item. Love it!!
Where has this Kuhn Rikon Pull Chop Chopper/Manual Food Processor with Cord Mechanism been all my life? I have a full sized KitchenAid food processor which works wonderfully for large jobs but not so useful for a single onion or carrot or stalk of celery. I used to purchase mini-preps but after a couple stopped working over time I decided to hand prep small items. A three cup version of this chopper is offered but I selected the two cup since I had the full sized food processor.Meanwhile that one onion or one carrot or one celery stalk was being chopped by hand by me. While shopping here I chanced upon a chopper similar to this one. After researching the various models offered I decided to purchase this model due to all its excellent reviews and the fact it is made in Switzerland. Now that it is here and I have used it several times, I happily give it 5 stars. In fact, I would give it 50 stars if I could! The stem has three stainless steel blades, one on the bottom, one in the middle and one on the top. As a result all the onion (for instance) gets chopped rather than pieces crawling up the sides. It does not take a lot of strength to pull the cord and so far three or so pulls have been sufficient. It is also easy to clean up. Wash the bowl and chopper but NOT the top as the cord should not get wet. Just a wipe will take care of it. The chopper blades are shipped in a plastic case which could be used for storage if one chooses. The petite size of the chopper takes little storage space. I love this chopper. Highly recommended.

Problem; and then problem solved
I just got one of these and haven't tried it yet. No instructions, no mention of the important fact that you have to break off the little green piece at the bottom to get the blade mechanism out of the see thru safety container.. (thus lack of a point) I read the box, the instructions, watched all videos and NOWHERE did they-or anyone- tell you you have to break a seal that looks just like it belongs there and shouldn't be touched. So I am your miffed customer, here to help all of you who may have the same problem. I'll be back once I've tried it for what it's meant for.DO NOT THROW OUT that little green piece you pulled off the bottom to get the blades out of the see-thru container. I did, thinking it was just there to hold the blades in and couldn't imagine why the company made it look like the top green plastic blade shield. So I tossed it in the garbage. Then I carefully looked at the little tiny pictures and noted that there was a long green thing at the bottom of the cutting cylinder they claimed would help push the debris out into the container to help with the chopping. Oh drat!!! So after pulling all the garbage out I did find the green plastic arm, washed it, and pushed it onto the bottom of the knife cylinder and it worked. (see pictures 3+5)But that isn't the end.Today I tried it on something I have always hated chopping, celery for my clam chowder. Clean the celery, cut it into 2" chunks, pulled the handle and, in less than one minute I had very finely minced celery for the chowder. Well, that's it. I am sold and forgive them for making me do all that work. It was worth a burrow into the garbage for all that effortlessly minced celery. Sorry, times up. Gotta go mince up a bunch of carrots and walnuts for a carrot cake. I have this new thing, you see, that makes the job oh, so much easier that I thought I'd just quickly bake one up. But as far as the one star off I am going to leave it that way until I notice that the company has fixed this problem and then I will give it the 5 stars it deserves.
