APS Running Boards (Nerf Bars Side Steps Step Bars) Compatible with Ford F150 2015-2025 Regular Cab & F-250 F-350 Super Duty 2017-2025 (Stainless Steel Black Powder Coated 5 inches)

Amazon asked me to make a video of this installation but that would be rather difficult. I ordered these running boards for Ken, my 84 year old neighbor. Ken is not into computers or video cameras so I will try and describe the installation. I'm no spring chicken either being 63, have had open heart surgery, have Lupus causing 14 joint surgeries. Most recently both knees were replaced which are not fully healed yet.Ken bought a 2016 regular cab (only 2 doors) Ford F150 and needed running boards to assist him in getting into his truck. The running boards arrived in a timely manner and all the parts were there. Instructions were easy to follow. There are threaded bolts under the doors made for running boards. I mounted the frame supports (2 for each door) but did not tighten. Each running board has slots for 4 bolts at each end that fit into the supports. I lined up the boards and tightened the boards then tightened the supports. Washes and lock nuts (with plastic inserts were provided). Everything fit perfectly. I only needed a socket wrench and 2 sockets.The dealer wanted $400 for the parts and $150 (dealer cost) to install them. Ken paid $169 and I installed them without charge. I enjoyed helping my neighbor. From the point that I laid down on the garage floor until I finished was 35 minutes. Hint: place a pad or old carpet on the garage floor. The hardest part of the entire installation was getting down on the floor and getting back up. I mentioned that both knees have been replaced.Ken weighs 160 pounds and they work great for him. I weigh 206 pounds and stood on the running boards and even bounced on them. There was no "give", it is a solid install. This would be an even easier install for someone in better shape than I am. Ken's truck is white with black trim and these black running boards look good on his truck. I would highly recommend these running boards, even for multi-door trucks.

Overall, I’m highly satisfied with these running boards.They’ve got a clean, simple look and blend well with the truck- the styling is simple enough that they don’t scream “aftermarket.”They’re very sturdy, and quite easy for one person to install in maybe 30 minutes.While the instructions walked me through the installation process quite easily, it was a rather poorly laid out packet- the diagrams were so faint, it honestly looked like a 5th generation photocopy.My only gripe was fulfillment and shipping time of my order- ordered on 5/21/20, “shipped” by AMZL on 6/5/20 (with no updates until 6/13), and then delivered by USPS on 6/15/20. 25 days for delivery of an item that was IN STOCK when ordered. Not sure if this is representative of others’ experiences, but beware.

After looking at a lot of more expensive options ($500-$600) and then pricing bars installed at the dealership ($1100), I decided to order these bars by APS. I am very happy with the purchase.I installed the boards myself with the instructions provided. The instructions included actual photos of the process and were easy to follow. I am more handy with a hammer than a wrench, and I found this installation to be pretty smooth.Attaching the third support near the rear wheel well and then attaching the bar to the support while not tightened provided the greatest challenge. I did the installation alone, but I highly recommend having help. I must have gotten up and down under the truck 100 times, and it would have been helpful to have someone else when it came to installing the bars themselves. The installation took me about 2 hours, but I believe with help it could have been closer to an hour.Two drawbacks that I have found.One is that the bars are listed as aluminum, but they feel like plastic. They may be aluminum, but they don't feel like it to the touch.The other is that with a single cab pickup, the third support underneath the bar is only about two-thirds of the way from the forward end of the bar to the rear. So the last 12 inches of the bar are not supported. This is partly due to the design of the truck, but if these bars fail, I suspect it will be there. I still gave 4 stars for sturdiness.I would buy these again.

I received my running boards yesterday late afternoon and am so happy I bought these! I got them for my 2019 Ford F150 Regular cab. They were packaged incredibly well and from the time I opened the box until I tightened down all the nuts was just under an hour, and I was taking my time. A 10 year-old could install these things, it is that simple. The brackets are very sturdy steel and finished beautifully. The boards themselves are aluminum, so no rust issues expected there. The non-slip surface is functional and quite attractive. Most people don't realize that every truck out there these days have the studs for running boards already installed at the factory so there is no drilling, cutting, measuring, or ANYTHING involved other than attaching the brackets to the studs and then attaching the boards to the brackets. Dealers are getting seven hundred bucks for running boards and these are a STEAL at a buck seventy!

The mounting brackets were heavy and well made. The powder coating on them was done well. The running boards were also nicely made. Installation was easy, parts fit well and hade a good range of adjustment. Packaging was good and product arrived undamaged.

simple to install, look factory. my wife can now get in the truck without assistance [lol and she is not that old, these fords sit high] We shall see how they stand up to Michigan winters, if they do not, I wont be disappointed because I know the Ford ones DO NOT and these are way cheaper to replace.
