Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack

I was initially put off at the price, but when I received it I was pleasantly surprised. It looks and feels durable. It is a more expensive model of bike racks, but I’ve always perceived Thule products as higher end. I’ve seen other brands of similar style racks on many cars and none looked as heavy gauge of metal and simplistic in operation. It should pass the test of time. I have a mtb rebuild that will not fit the hanging style racks so I purchased this and am really pleased with the ease of operation and assurance of my bike staying in place with the locking arm. Would recommend

The Thule rack looks like it will be durable and has nice features. I will say this, a simple allen wrench can remove the hold down bars and the bikes can be removed quite easily. Do not leave these unattended for a long period of time.Assembly was relatively easy. The instructions are not the best. I watched a 10 minute video and it was pretty straight forward. I like the lock pin so it is secure to the hitch. Honestly, if someone really wants the rack or the bikes on it, they will get them but that's pretty true of anything. I have always had good luck with Thule and expect the same with this rack.The seller on the other hand was not a great experience. I had the rack 99% built and fixed to my hitch when I discovered that the two screws that secure the hold down bars to the rack were missing. The sellers response was to send the rack back for a refund. Take the rack apart, find a box to fit it in, drive it to UPS and await their refund. They told me they cannot contact Thule themselves, they have no relationship. It would cost $75 bucks to send it back. I asked for a parts credit and received only a "return the product" back to us. Makes no sense. The hardware bag was opened so I can only assume that someone went through this rack before it was shipped. Had to do more legwork than I should have for a new product and an expensive one at that.

The rack itself is great. Instructions are clear and the assembly takes about 30 minutes. The rack tilts up when no bikes are on it and it tilts back for easier access to the trunk (although, on 2014 camry, the hitch is far enough out so that the trunk opens in the regular position as well). Taking off and putting on the rack is fairly easy as well ND takes a couple minutes.The only thing that surpasses the value of the rack is the great customer service at "Bike A Mile." The locks for the bikes were damaged during transport. I contacted customer service and they sent me a brand new rack within 4 days (including delivery) just in time before our trip. Thank you!

The tire shoes would not fit on the horizontal bar making it unusable. Even if we could get them on, the 2" hitch was so sloppy in the receiver it would not have been sturdy enough to drive with. I question if this is an authentic Thule product. If it is Thule quality is horrible. Luckily return through Amazon was a breeze.

I am very disappointed to this rack, my bike fell of the rack before I hit the highway. The top arm moved up even locked

Easy installation, good quality strong enough for two mountain bike.

Great rack with a solid build quality, lightweight and relatively easy to install and take off, as one would expect from Thule. BUT, when you try to put on 2 bikes, you run into issues with the frame lockdown arms as well as the wheel cradles. Since both frame lockdown arms are mounted on the same post (as opposed to separate individual posts like Thule's much more expensive offerings) you may not be able to fully hold down a frame on one side if the arm holding the other frame is too low and prevents it from getting to the right height.On the other hand, works great for 1 full suspension MTB.

This was extremely easy to put together. Very Sturdy and folds down and out of the way when I need to open my truck's tailgate.
