Q: I have a 50 lb pointer w 14 in neck (very lean and slender). Will the small have enough slack to deliver an audible/mechanical training cue?

I'm not sure. I have a 59 lb. lab mix and I bought the medium. His neck is about 16". I could make it a lot smaller if I needed to. I really like the width of this collar. I previously ordered a small and the collar was not wide enough and the chain part was small. The medium works for us. Hope this helps you,

The small size is listed as 12 to 14. You would probably be okay with that size since it is an adjustable collar although I cannot say for sure. My dogs neck size is 17 and the large works for her. I would check the Mighty Paw return policy prior to purchase. They seem to strive for high customer satisfaction.
