Excellent item to pick up beach finds while beachcombing!
Excellent item that performed exactly as described! I took the Sand Dipper with me on my trip to Myrtle Beach. My goal was finding shark's teeth, and I was not disappointed! While I don't mind picking up beach finds, the Sand Dipper allowed me to save some back muscles! I would suggest you scoop up some sand under the teeth, as smaller teeth could fall through. Also, if you are where the tide is rolling in, get your finds to the shore, so you don't lose anything. The Sand Dipper is especially useful at night, since quick surf scooping is often necessary. As a side note, I would also feel comfortable using this for protection myself on my walks. While I love this item, I don't like having to post a picture of the Sand Dipper being used so I can get the walking attachment. I wish the company would include the walking attachment as this great item speaks for itself. I am including some pictures of the finds, and hopefully I will be able to receive the walking stick attachment.

Perfect! safe your back, stay dry, and don't fear what you are reaching for in murky water : )
Used this on our last trip. When my wife first saw it she thought it was useless and wanted me to send it back. I think we were at the beach less than an hour when she saw how great it was to keep dry and not having to stoop while you checked out stuff in the water that might bite, sting, or have hooks! One of these along with one of the bigger basket type sifters is perfect for shelling.

Not just for the sand.
I am an urban rockhound. I purchased my sanddipper last year, and it has proven itself indispensable over and over again. My main goal is to collect river agates in and around Portland Oregon. I use my sanddipper 3 to 4 days a week and its great. I use it so much that I have flat worn the bottom wires out after fifteen months of use. I contacted the company today about that little problem and they were kind enough to send me a new one. All I had to do was send them pics of the worn out part and some of the agates Ive collected. My sanddipper saves my back from having to do so much bending over, but its helpful to move smaller rocks around too. I keep mine in my car at all times. If you are a rock hound, or a beach comber, you cant go wrong with this product. From extending to five foot long, you can take the basket off easily and it becomes a wading staff. Buy one for your rockhound friends as a gift, they will love you for it.

Fabulous shell/ rock hunting tool!
I love this gadget! I keep one at my parents on the Great Lakes for rock hunting ( I have the jr there & I it works great & adjusts to fit my height of 5’6”. At home I have this model & use it as the beach for hunting shells/ beach glass. I love that it can be broken down to 4 small pieces, I took it on vacation to Costa Rica ( great place to hunt for shells) & it fit in my small suitcase

Wire mesh issue
Out the box the wire mesh that makes the basket was defective on my unit. As you can see in the picture the wire arrives undone or not welded. I tried to just bend it inward but found that when grabbing from the scooper it was sharp. And I was careful when testing. I know the kids won't be so back it goes. I does appear sturdy though so I'm sure this was just a defect
