OM SYSTEM OLYMPUS Pathfinder EXPS I 12x50 Binocular

For the price they are a quality product , my wife loves them for bird watching , and watching deer and turkeys from front window

These binoculars have extremely good sharpness and contrast. I’ve used them for birding and sporting events, and they are excellent.

The image quality offered by this binocular is exceptionally clear.It is ideal for astronomical observations.The Orion Nebula can be seen perfectly well as the Pleyades.

I'm surprised about the outstanding performance of this binocular. If you can hold it without vibration, you can easily read a newspaper about five meters away. Before I have this, I spent double price on a Nikon one but that is no match for this. I strongly recommend this binocular!

Extremely sharp view.

These binoculars are super well made. Great quality and ease of use. However, as stated in another review here, I found the cheaper 8x40 DPS WAY sharper! My dad has them and as I compared these, his were better.So, I just swapped them and kept the 8x40 instead as I know my dad won’t notice! Ever since I’ve enjoyed them way more, because of the sharpness and overall clarity.

I am a professional photographer working in New York City for over 30 years. I'm into optics. My preferred cameras are Leica M Range finders with Leitz lenses. After doing research and then testing these binoculars at a camera store I decided to purchase these Olympus 10 x 42 EXPS I binoculars. This is the third set I have ordered. I give them as gifts to friends who have great views from their homes. They are very "bright" and hence are also good for looking at the night time sky & stars. The reason I did not give them five stars is that Leica binoculars are better; but they also cost $ 1,800.00 and up. I tested various other brands at all price points. For value vs. quality I believe these are among the best.

Ópticamente son los prismáticos que rinden muy bien, con muy buena nitidez y tienen una reproducción cromática, es decir, una reproducción de los colores mucho más fiel a la realidad que otros que haya probado como los prismáticos Bresser de Lidl, aunque estos sí que es verdad que son más baratos. En cuanto al recubrimiento de la lente se trata de uno sencillo, un antirreflejos con el que no he tenido ningún problema. Son unos prismáticos bastante ligeros dentro de que son un poquito más pesados que los que los Bresser, pero son lo suficientemente ligeros: no llegan al kilo de peso. Creo que son 850 gramos lo que lo que pesan, son los suficientemente ligeros como para poder mantenerlos a pulso, sinnecesidad de utilizar un trípode. Obviamente siempre es recomendable utilizar un trípode cuando estamos observando con prismáticos porque nos va a dar más estabilidad nos vamos a cansarmenos el trípode por cierto se conecta mediante una rosca que está bajo una tapita. Tenéis que comprar un adaptador eso sí, porque no lo trae incluido.Tiene la rueda de enfoque en el centro como es habitual en casi todos los prismáticos, en el ocular derecho tenemos el ajuste de dioptrías, con lo cual pues si tenéis miopía o hipermetropía pues se pueden ajustar perfectamente a vuestra visión.

Prismáticos sólidos y acabados de calidad con detalles de gama alta. Imagen nítida y luminosa. Creo que ofrecen una buena relación calidad/precio. Son un poco pesados por el sistema de prisma porro que montan y echo en falta el adaptador para el trípode.Muy contento con la compra.

Se sei un esperto non hai bisogno di leggere questa recensione, se invece è il tuo primo binocolo provo a darti qualche informazione:i prezzi dei binocoli partono da 20 euro per finire a migliaia di euro. Inoltre tra le varie sigle 12x50, 8x42, zoom, prismi, ecc ecc, diventa complicato individuare il prodotto giusto.Ho scelto questo Olympus EXPS perché:1) diffida dai binocoli da pochi euro ( sono dei "giocattoli", per evitare di dire peggio......)2) scegli una buona marca (Olympus, Nikon, Vortex.....)3) Non pensare che il binocolo più potente sia "il migliore". Cioè 12x50 (vuol dire che ingrandisci 12 volte e la lente misura 50mm) è già il "massimo" che puoi pretendere da un buon binocolo a questo prezzo (a tal proposito se vuoi approfondire, suggerisco di leggere qualche forum su internet... ci sono pagine e pagine di spiegazioni)4) In generale NON pretendere troppo dai binocoli.... rimarrai deluso. Non stai comprando un telescopio.......! vedrai bei paesaggi, la luna fantastica, il cielo stellato stupendo, ma dimenticatigli anelli di Saturno, i dettagli di Giove, ecc5) tra un binocolo "zoom" e un binocolo "fisso" come questo Olympus, scegli il "fisso" ( la stessa Olympus fa un binocolo "zoom" fino a 16 ingrandimenti, ma costa molto meno.... il motivo c'è ! tutti i binocoli professionali sono fissi) "Zoom" significa che con una levetta puoi variare gli ingrandimenti, scegliendo se ingrandire 8 volte, oppure 9 oppure 10....... fino al massimo ingrandimento possibile. Non è una funzione indispensabile, rende delicate/meno precise le ottiche del binocolo e abbassa la qualità delle immagini6) sei indeciso tra un binocolo ed un telescopio? il binocolo lo prendi e in 2 secondi lo usi, il telescopio lo devi trasportare, montare, calibrare..... ( io li posseggo entrambi, uso molto di più il binocolo, ma ovviamente il telescopio è molto più potente..... anche se....... c'è telescopio e telescopio...... anche qui c'è da spendere denaro per un buon prodotto)CONCLUDENDO:Questo Olympus EXPS è PERFETTO: rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo, abbastanza leggero e maneggevole, materiali buoni, ottiche perfette e immagini luminose e ingrandimenti più che soddisfacenti.Un valido binocolo da portare con se in tante occasioni e che lascia veramente soddisfatti!

Olympus have a great set of binos here which are up to the standards I know other Olympus products for. These 12x50's are light, really nicely made and provide bright and sharp views, not too big either. Very impressed with the quality for the price (paid approx £240). Bought for astronomy viewing but they're really good for just about anything during the day too. If you're small you may find they don't fold enough for both eye pieces to cover your eyes. They're just okay for my wife so check out this aspect in the specs if that concerns you.

Bought for a safari. Just as good, if a little heavier, than my husband's binoculars that he paid a lot more for.Worth reading the instructions to get the set up right.Worked just as well looking at birds nearby and animals in the far distance. Also good in failing light.
