Really nice bracket
This bracket is made very well. It's super easy to install if you have basic mechanical knowledge of putting things together. The instructions show a few different scenarios of how to adjust the items together, but since this is so universal, it cannot show what your particular window A/C set-up will look like. The metal brackets are about 1/8 thick steel and can support a lot of weight although a majority of the weight is still on the window frame itself, this is just basically holding up the back end. Also, remember to adjust the bracket so that you have a couple degrees slant downward towards the back end of the unit. The object will be that your A/C will hold a certain amount of water in its bottom tray. This uses the water to help the cooling process, but if there is any overfill of water, you want it to drain outside, not into your room. All that being said, this bracket has several ways to position itself, and what I found most important was the middle brace so that the bottom arm is held in place and cannot slip downward. The hardware supplied is heavy duty and the screws that go down into the window sill and frame are about 3" long, going right into the wood frame and studs. There is no way this is going to slide away from the wall, just be sure to pre-drill your screw hole with about an 11/64 size drill bit to allow the screw to go that deep without cracking your wood. So, if your good at home projects this is all very do-able, If not, purchase the bracket and let someone else do the install.

Sturdiness
My tv on my window has to be very secure since I live on the second floor and there’s always people passing by on the sidewalk not too far away from the walls. This ANYMOUNT support bracket holds up to 165 lb and my AC is a lot lighter that that! For the price, excellent!

Oversize and takes too longer to adjust
It holds great. The only thing I didn't like is that it takes forever to set it up to adjust to fit. Also, based on the instruction I need to put the screws close to the window, which I can't close my window even without the air conditioner. I though that the size doesn't matter, which I'm wrong. I have a small AC and it doesn't level so make sure your pick the right size.

One of the most versatile brackets, great for NYC apartmentsI in, but tedious to adjust
I install a lot of window AC brackets. It's a tedious task in NYC, since due to the construction of the sill and the windows, very often brackets don't fit properly. This is one of if not the best brackets for NYC, along with the smaller version it has more adjustment options than many. If you bring both this and the small one to the job, there's a very good chance that at least one will fit, and fit better than any other brackets (of this general type) on the market. And they are an excellent price. The only real downside is that it is extremely tedious and time consuming to adjust. There are three main adjustment points for configuring where the pieces connect, and it will take a lot of trial and error to figure out which configuration works best. And each time you move a piece, you need to remove and reinstall a screw, nut, and a spacers and washers which fit tightly together. Then you need to check the fit, and repeat a bunch of times until you get it right. So the whole process takes a long time. The adjustment nut is the final step, that is the easy part and you can usually do it without tools.Still, much better to have the options, and end up with a good fit, than to not. Most brackets in NYC are installed improperly, because they are either too small or there is no way to adjust them to fit around protruding sills and brace against the building facade, as they are intended to do.It helps to figure out exactly where you're going to place it, and how many spacers you're going to use, before adjusting the mount. (tip: for aluminum apartment windows, you want the surface of the mount to be at least as high as the top edge of the window bottom, and leave about 2" between the outside edge of the window and where the support bracket starts (the spacers) so that the protruding frame on the bottom of the AC can sit properlyAnd as with any bracket, don't use the included screws, use proper masonry or multi-material screws (as long as you can find, I typically use 6" screws) and a hammer drill. In most cases (in metal windows) you will drill through the aluminum frame, through any wood blocking, and hopefully into solid masonry below that.PS- yes, you need metric hex bits / allen wrenches to assemble this. I don't know why some other reviews are complaining about this, these are extremely basic and common tools, if you don't have those, you really have no business installing any AC bracket. As for the adjustment nut, you can just do that with your finger, you don't really need to use a wrench (typically you have no way of reaching it once the AC is in place, you adjust it beforehand). But if you do need to use a wrench, I think an 11mm box wrench is what you need.

Installation was a hassle, but…
It’s holding up my AC pretty well and I think it’s pretty stable. While it took me a while to get the installation figured out once I did it was smooth sailing from there. Keep in mind you will need your own tools to get the job done however and I wasn’t expecting that.

Good quality
These air conditioner brackets are good quality, easy to put up and at a great price. ( Home Depot want 65+). I bought a second bracket for my other air conditioner.

Missing Pieces - Think I got a returned one...
The unit I received was loose in the box, as in individual screws and bolts rolling around and falling out when I opened the package, and some of the parts were scuffed up. The took package that came with it, holding the various other screws, bolts, and parts.. was missing the J and K sections.. they had already been torn out of the plastic and were not included.. I assume it was the wrench and allen tool that you needed to install it. Thankfully I was able to make due with some stuff I had here, even though I could not tighten anything down properly. It's a clunky and convoluted design but I think it will work. I just wish I had gotten the New item I paid for and not one someone sent back with only some of the parts and no instructions.

Good value for the money!
Easy to install, no crazy tools or knowledge needed.
