Perfect.
The most difficult part is figuring out how to cook with it. If you’re Asian, ask your mom how she did it for 20 years before rice cookers were a thing. It is the same. The most important things this can do that your rice cooker can’t?1. Be brought to the table and served from2. Be beautiful.

What a Great Pot!!!!
It took me awhile to finally purchase this French oven, but now that I have it I can honestly say it was good money spent on a great product! I love rice and have used several expensive electronic rice cookers that have all the fancy logic, but they never gave me the light, fluffy rice that I get at some of the local Asian restaurants that I go to.Well that is all now in the past. I have looked at many Japanese ceramic rice pots that looked appealing, but I have cats and figure one of them will knock the ceramic pot off the shelf and that would be it. I took much time to review my options and ran into the Staub Petite French Oven with all the swash shaped pieces on the inner lid that causes the moisture to rain down on the rice as it is cooking. To be honest it did take me a couple pots of rice to get things correct. My stove has 4 burners...two at 5K btu, one at 10K btu and the last one at 14K btu. I found that if I use the 10K btu burner turned to low I would get the correct results when following the instructions on the rice package. Once I got use to using this pot with my stove I have had perfect rice everytime afterwards. It is always light and fluffy, never mushy.I cook mostly Basmati and Jasmine (Aromatic) rice. but have also cooked long grain rice and very short grain 'sushi' rice with excellent results. I am extremely happy with this pot.

1.5 Quart is perfect for two.
Quick shipping. Love this seller. Wasted more than 2 weeks with a rude little Atlanta, Ga based on line retailer before cancelling my order and reordering from a competent Kitchen Supply store in California. I really wanted this pot in Matte black! It arrived EARLY, well packaged and as described. LOVE this little 1.5Q pot. Perfect for a simple 2 person meal. Matte black finish is hard to find right now but definitely a wise choice for me. Looks great with the upgraded Staub Snail Handle. (Caution: Check the Staub website for accurate pricing! Some amazon sellers are more than double!). I was willing to pay a little extra for In Stock item and better service.

My wife loves this
This version ships from Japan and, according to my wife, is a lightweight version of the American pot. She super happy with it. It cooks fantastic rice and is create for steaming sweet potatoes.

As advertised
This is a smaller pot so make sure you read the quart size! It’s more $$$ than the bigger sizes, but I love how this looks and the size. It’s perfect for one dinner for 2-3 people. I make stews and soups in here and it’s the perfect size so I don’t need to eat the same thing for days like when I use my larger pots. It’s def $$$ for the size, but I don’t regret buying it! Love it.

Fabulous little pot
Got this in matte black, and it’s so much more useful than I expected; I got it primarily for rice, but it’s also great for rehearing soups and gravies, boiling eggs, making sauces. It’s a little workhorse. I put it on the smallest staub wooden trivet and bring it right to the table.

The perfect little pot
I’ve had this for six months and highly recommend it. I use this to cook rice and quinoa. I prefer this to a regular pot because of its heavy lid. It retains moisture so that the grains are fully cooked and fluffy. I also prefer it over the automatic rice cooker I used to have as there are less parts to clean. Plus it looks beautiful (I bought the matte black) so it’s great from stove to table. The only negative is that the handle gets incredibly hot which is something I’ve never needed to worry about with my Le Creuset pot.
