I get migraines almost daily. I’ve tried multiple hats and this is my favorite! I’m going to buy another one. It has the longest cold retention, adjustable tightness, I can cover my eyes or leave them uncovered, move it down onto my neck more, and it’s soft. It’s also got a little weight to it so the counter-pressure actually helps my migraines more. Another plus, it’s one of the cheaper ones. Hope this helps.

It has some weight, because there are ice packs, but it’s not too much and feels comfortable. The gentle cooling helps and I can even lay in it and fall asleep without issue. At times when a migraine is intolerable, this is what has helped me get through the pain. I love that I can adjust the openings to secure it, remove ice packs if there is a place that I don’t need or want them at the time. It’s an awesome product for what it is designed to do and I am so glad I tried it!

This is an overall great product. The fabric is extremely comfortable and soft, which is good because you don't want uncomfortable textures in a product you use for migraines, and it fits well on my head, although your mileage may vary. The cold lasts for a good chunk of time, and it doesn't take too long to get back to a proper level of cold.The only thing holding me back from giving it a 5 is just that it doesn't get cold enough for me. Now, this only happens because the material is a little thick, BUT I would rather have the material be too thick -- thus providing more safety from potential ice burns -- than too thin.Important to note: I buzz my head, so my hair is always shorter than half an inch. if you have longer hair, you might also experience this. however! perceptions of temperature are extremely individual, so what's slightly not cold enough for me may be absolutely perfect for you. Don't let this hold you back from ordering it, but just keep it in mind so your expectations are reasonable when you get it.Again, this is a solid 4 stars from me, and the only thing keeping it from a 5 is a personal preference on my part.

I had doubts about this because it sounds ridiculous and looks even more ridiculous but yet, it's actually kind of amazing. Does it cure my migraine? No. Does it smush my glasses farther into my face causing different pain? Yes. Does it cut down on migraine pain and make me feel much better, much quicker? YES! I try to avoid migraine meds at work because I deal with a lot of data entry and so have to be sharp- can't have a lot of brain fog. I pop this puppy on and it drastically cuts down on the pain without taking meds that linger and make me doopey. I bought a second- one to keep at work and one to keep at home. The only downside is that, when migraines wake me up in the middle of the night, I have to make the choice to either tough it out and not get out of bed or get out of bed and potentially keep myself up after the migraine stops. I don't usually get out of bed, but it's pretty tempting.

So, I got this for a friend going through chemo to help with the burning that accompanies the hair falling out. It's not extremely heavy, but it was still too heavy for my friend to even consider wearing on account of how weak and in pain she was.Ended up returning it without trying, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for someone else - it seemed she had a rougher than usual time with chemo and it's worth checking out if you think it might help.

Uses 4 gel cold packs. The better the cold packs the cooler your head. The included gel packs are sufficient to keep you head cool for about an hour.

I made a mistake buying this. Oh yes it cools your head in no time but if you don't like having extra weight tipping you every which way, sitting on your ears then don't buy this. It recommends to take the packs out before cooling or heating, well if you do by the time you get them back in they will be warm/cooling before you can even use it. I'd advise getting something else.

My husband gets cervicogenic headaches that are really painful and intense. They last 2 to 3 hours at a time. He has an injury to his cervical spine which is worsening, and the headaches started several months ago. Nerve blocks and prescription pain medication have not done much, but this does. For whatever reason, ice helps his headaches. This Ice Cap is an easy way to give him long-lasting relief. The 4 ice packs are easy to remove and freeze then reinsert. The cap could probably be stuffed into the freezer with ice packs still in it but I don't have the space. The cap seems to be well constructed and looks like it will be easy to wash. This item is budget-friendly alternative and it works.
