Worked with HP dv7-6b32us laptop with one minor mod
I had to put insulating tape on the heat sink, which was larger than the OEM heat sink. Otherwise tested OK. FWIW, you can test the fan to ensure it runs before installation by clipping the ends off an old USB connector and stripping and attaching these power wires from the USB connector to needles, which you can jam into the fan connector. There are several diagrams on the internet that show you which USB wires to connect to the power wires on the fan. Very useful since HP laptop needs nearly a whole teardown just to get to the fan.

Unable to Rate because it was the wrong part.
I ordered the coolant fan for my computer before I took out the old one. I ordered a coolant fan for my model of computer. When I went in to exchange it I found that it had a different number than the one I ordered and the one I ordered would not fit.

Probably best to leave it to the experts but in a bind, it is definately an option.
Would have been a good purchase if all the parts necessary were there to install it. My technician had to use old parts with it. Because my unit was 6 years old I was unable to locate the HP compatible part. This seemed like the best alternative
