Great alternative to OEM filters (see details). Highly Recommended
One of the nice things about buying a decent air cleaner (I have Winix, Coway, and RabbitAir units) is that there are enough of them out there that you have options available when it comes to replacement filters. A lot of people just buy OEM filters, but an aftermarket option can be just as good. I decided to find out if the Fette Filter Max2 filters were decent...The Fette Filter units arrive bagged and boxed. I cleaned and removed the prefilter screens from my AIRMEGA 400s, and then pulled out my old filters using the built-in ribbon loops. Immediately installing the Fette Filter replacements gave me a good basis of comparison. The weight is close enough to call equal, which is important with pleated material and activated charcoal. The foam gasketing is similar as well, which prevents air leakage/bypass. Finally, while the ribbon loop is aesthetically a little different than the OEM unit, it's just as functional for pulling out the used filter.The worst part about an air cleaner, in my opinion, is the consumable cost of filters. I mean, you're not doing yourself any favors trying to stretch out more time on a cashed filter, but you know that the OEM AIRMEGA Max2 (3111735) shouldn't cost $100+, either. At less than half the cost, and with similar performance, I'm sticking to Fette Filter for my 400s filters. Highly Recommended
