Gets quite warm & Works with Media Player Classic (for Capture)
This was my first experience with a capture card, and it took me a while to understand how to use it. You run your video through this, and connect a USB-C Connector to your PC. You pretty much have to use the USB-C Cord that comes with this device because the port is inset so far into the device (with a narrow plastic passage) that most USB-C Cable tips are too wide to fit seated into the port. After you connect the USB C port, there is a device that shows up in pretty much any media device. I used Media Player Classic (Home Cinema Edition). In the capture options of your video program, you choose the indicated Analog Settings for "Vdieo" and "Audio" out of your capture card. Then you go back to the main application page and choose "Open Device". If you get an error stating "Can't Create Video Capture Filter", Just restart the machine that the USB-C is plugged into, and then it will work the 2nd time. If all goes well, your media player will show a window as if you are already watching a video. You can simply hit record at that point. Although not intuitive, it only took me about 15 minutes to figure out. The tiny insert (that I needed a magnifying glass to read) cited methods to view the stream that required software I didn't have. On a hunch, I just used Media Player Classic since I have it on every PC as part of the K-Light Codec Pack bundle. So, it works. The device gets quite warm... but I don't know if this is unusual. It does pass 4k video through, and it down-samples it fairly well. The hardware downsampling does get filtered through your applications encoding codecs (a 2nd time), so you'll have to play with the settings to tweak the file size and/or quality. I'd say that you have to be a semi-technical user to use this device... or be patient and follow directions (making some intuitive leaps like simply restarting your PC when things don't work when they should).

Great video, terrible audio (maybe it's just my setup)
The video capture is fine, but the audio is very low; increasing the input 800% gets the sound level up, but causes a background hum (even thought it's all digital). I had to purchase a separate optical audio to USB-C adapter to record audio without a hum.

Constantly Disconnects and Reconnects while in use.
It works and does deliver a true 60FPS signal BUT the major dealbreaking issue is within about a few minutes of use, the device just constantly disconnects and reconnects. When I open device manager, or just observing the OS, the device is constantly being added / removed non-stop. As a result, any software using the card doesn't work (picture freezes in OBS, etc). The passthrough continues to work to my TV, but this constant reset happens within a few minutes of usage, makes me wonder if its overheating, etc... I have multiple USB-C ports on my computer and all have of the produce the exact same problem within a few minutes of usage, yet other devices in the ports have no issue (4k webcam, yeti mic, etc) Maybe i just got a faulty one...

4k in and 4k out with no lap, capture / stream at 1080p 60hz
small unit that puts in work. You are basically capturing a lower resolution version of your higher resolution 4k source creating quality videos that scale well when played back.OBS is the software of choice, it recognizes and gets to work right away.4k in and 4k out for passthrough is pretty awesome if say you're playing PS4 pro and want to turn on the resolution options and still be able to capture what those differences look like without breaking the bank. (same with the xbox when playing one X and below), upconverters could take this even further.Other's I've looked at have the option of taking in 4k but only recording and outputting at 1080p, so it's nice to have real 4k passthrough without compromise. The device is really small, I keep it in my bag, when ready to record it's easy enough to plug into and out from and do what I need without spending much time to get doing what I need. I appreciate the passthrough, definitely try to use the best usb option you can as it's a lot of data the device has to capture and work on right away, going into a hub or slow usb connection can definitely change your experience.USB-c works exactly how I would imagine and is the option I prefer and recommend.Overall very solid product, a little niche, curious how long it'll take for a 4k 120hz (ps5 hdmi 2.1) in and out w/ 4k 120hz capture. I can imagine that's going to get expensive, luckily for my needs this device works great. (ps4 pro and under game capture)Recommended (I wanted to be able to do some upscaling and seeing the difference in real time and try to capture and analyze latency, etc when trying out various options to do this. 4k capture is expensive and not needed as much as the intended destination is around 1080p to 2k. This device perfectly meets my needs of wanting 4k at 60hz in and out with no latency, 1080p 60fps is a solid capture and scales back with better definition and quality than just going natively 1080p to begin with.

It was really nice..
When I first started using it all my videos looked crystal clear crisp 1080p60. I loved it. Now 38 days after purchase and after approx 65hrs of xbox capture no matter what I change my settings to (because I didn't change them after the first time because all footage was spot on) I can't seem to get any smooth capture anymore. It was nice when I got it but I fee like the unit I got had some components that reached end of life very early.

Very Good for the Price
I used this in 2 ways. First was as a capture card for my Xbox, second was with my main pc using the main monitor. Overall I think it's very good for the price. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because you have to play with the settings in OBS for the colors to look right. I was able to squeeze some very good quality out of it for the price though and I definitely recommend this thing to anyone who wants to try and stream or record videos.
