Perfect commuter day backpack for the professional.
Excellent quality backpack from Brenthaven. Looks and feels professional and you will not feel self-conscious carrying this pack into a meeting in the office. This is a pack that is perfect for both men and women.I spent quite some time researching commuter backpacks before finally settling on the MetroLite.I had previously ordered the Osprey Pixel Daypack, which in itself is another excellent bag, but found it too long, and did not have enough pockets for my needs, so I returned it and went with the Brenthaven MetroLite. It is large enough to fit a 15" laptop without any issues, along with a tablet and maybe a couple of books. The straps are thick and the pack is very comfortable to wear.It has a zipper in the center that allows you to open the bag in a butterfly fashion so that you do not have to remove your laptop when going through security at the airport. The bag also fits under the seat on a commuter plane. I also like the fact that The back slip pocket unzips allowing you to slip it over the handle of a roller type suit case. The dedicated AC adapter pocket on the bottom is somewhat limited in size, measuring in size of 1-1/2 inches deep, 11" wide, 3-1/2" tall. So if you have one of the old big brick power adapters, it's not going to fit. With that being said, I use a newer Lenovo at work, which has a fairly small power supply so that's not a problem for me. I normally carry an iPhone and Android phone charger in that pocket. The front organizer panel opens up nicely and has lots of room. I carry an iPhone 5C and a Samsung S3 phone, which fit in the pockets fine, and leaves another pocket open for a portable hard drive, or back up charger. It has another large pocket behind that, and a nice mesh pocket on the inside part of the flap itself. The key holder is of nice quality and seems durable. The pack also can sit straight up when set down without any issue. The pack is very well padded and I feel confident that if I drop it, my equipment will be perfectly fine.As far as the size goes, for me it's the perfect size, not too big, but not too small. As far as traveling goes, you should be able to pack a laptop, tablet, some notebooks and such, and maybe a shirt or two, but that's about it.All in all, this is an excellent product, it’s very well made, and I have no doubts that it’ll last me a long time. Highly recommended.

Don't be fooled by the pictures - nicely compact but adequate.
Everything I wanted in a backpack for my ultrabook and iPad, with just enough extra storage for a minimal amount of cables, portable hard drive, charging bricks, etc. I ordered and returned 3 others before getting this one, thinking it would be to bulky. In my opinion, the pictures don't do this pack justice in regards to size/bulk. For me, it's perfect in size - not the slimmest, but not as big as the pictures conveyed to me. The laptop compartment is very well padded, the extra pockets are all pretty well placed and the zippers are excellent in terms of the zipper "handles" and smoothness of the "zip".A some things I'm not crazy about: 1) there is a at the bottom of the back which I'm not sure what it's for and, more importantly, the placement. However, I thought it would be noticeable when I had the pack on, but it is not, so no big deal. 2) The x-ray friendly is not necessary and kind of a gimmick. There are at least a few airports - the ones I've used over the past few years - that require you take the laptop out of the bag, x-ray friendly or not. Given this, could have saved a zipper and some weight by eliminating this feature. 3) The white stitching is nice but looks like it could get frayed easily and/or may not weather well in terms of staying white. However, since Brenthaven has a lifetime warranty, I'm not worried about this (weathering notwithstanding). 5) As another reviewer mentioned, the handle could be a bit more sturdy, but this is nitpicking for the sake of the review. 6) The shoulder straps I'm going to have to get used to - it doesn't seem like the pack is secure enough as the pads are kind of stiff. The last pack I had felt much more secure when on my back or carried on one shoulder as the straps/pads molded better. That said, again, it could be just an adjustment/getting used to period. So, overall, this is an excellent backpack to carry a small laptop/ultrabook, and iPad, and room for accessories, printed material, chargers, etc. It's exceptionally well designed in terms of the compact yet adequate size. I would buy the item again and again - it's perfect for my needs.

Not what I expect from Brenthaven designs, missings the mark big time
This is only an OK computer pack, but it falls well short of the usual standards of a Brenthaven pack and is thus very disappointing as such. The material are good, padding is good, especially the computer sleeve, and overall construction is solid. It's stylish and light, without sacrificing protection.Where it falls short though, is in numerous areas:• Missing more mesh pockets in the middle section, as other Brenthaven packs have, to hold the smaller odds and ends• The two outer organizer pockets are practically useless when the organizer panel is filled up, and are very hard to get even small items in and out of them• The shoulder straps are too short for taller people. At 6'3", they barely cleared my armpit area, which made this pack less-than-comfortable to carry.• The organizer panel was lacking a number of key features, including any pen loops and the key strap was too long. This area would likely only appeal to the serious hardcore minimalists, and not the average business userI wanted to like this pack, having had a number of Brenthaven products, but it just falls too short for me to do so.
