Have the convenience of a large cooler when you need one and extra storage room in your home when you don't. The Coleman 40 Can Collapsible Cooler is big enough to hold almost two cases of soda and then collapse down to the size of a phone book when you're ready to put it away. A bungee cord on the back, front pocket and external lid storage make keeping snacks and utensils convenient. An adjustable shoulder strap makes it easy to carry. Antimicrobial, product-protecting properties are built into the flexible lining to resist odor, mold and mildew, making it easy to clean between uses. Heat-welded seams help prevent soft liner leaks.

Perfect for the truck driver 24 hour lunch box
I use this as a my lunch box and more. I use a smaller, hard side plastic tub (I think came from an old 24 can cooler) inside and I freeze water bottles as my ice blocks. Storage compartments are of paramount importance and the dry compartment in the lid is surprisingly spacious! Between it and the front zipper compartment, I have room for pens, paperwork, cell phone charger, sunglasses (in a hard case), bug repellent, sun screen, aspirin, small first aid kit, knit cap, and more... all kept separate from my food. I drive truck for a living and the shoulder strap, thrown over the back of the passenger seat, assures that this stays put in the seat next to me. The strap is also very strong and *wraps all the way underneath the cooler*! This is vital for extra strength and won't simply rip loose from the sides like cheaper, flimsier products! Bungies on the rear keep a light weight rain poncho, all folded up.I'm finding I'm reordering one every 12 to 16 months, which is money well spent considering how much I use it and the sort of abuse it can withstand. I *highly* recommend using some sort of a hard liner inside though! In over a year of use the top zipper is getting worn and jamming and the mesh pockets in the sides are starting to fray and rip out. NOT a perfect design, but for what I need it for, it's the best solution there is.

An elegant and easy to carry cooler that collects more compliments than its owner does.
It’s God’s honest truth, I swear it: my candy apple red Coleman soft sided cooler does indeed collect more compliments than I do, whether it be waiting in line at the grocery store (@Whole Foods, obviously, Jeff – in case you’re actually reading this), at the farmers’ market, or while picnicking in California wine country. Why? This cooler is as fancy-looking as it is functional. The thick, black, adjustable strap allows it to be carried on one’s shoulder, while the zippered top and front pockets make it easy to stash smaller items, like napkins, small disposable plates, knives, and corkscrews, without having to open the cavernous interior.I rarely put drinks like cans or bottles in this cooler, preferring to use a medium-sized Yeti hard cooler for that purpose, which I leave in the back of my vehicle with reusable ice packs. This Coleman soft cooler model is ideal for shopping at farmers’ markets, for loading up specialty grocery items @WholeFoods, for taking sandwiches and shelf ready snacks on road trips, or for packing wine country picnics. While it can carry a lot in terms of volume, if you weigh it down with ice, cans, bottles, or other heavy items, the soft sides and nylon shoulder straps tend to be under too much stress. I think of it rather as a protected, lightly insulated carry-all food bag, a road trip emergency meal kit, and a pretty thing to accessorize with your farmers’ market weekend attire. Because it looks so good, it also works at wineries that allow guests to bring in their own picnic foods. There is even room for stemless wine glasses and other touches, like placemats, real silverware, tea lights, matches, and all sorts of sundries that make wine country dining extra special. In the end, I find this cooler to be a sturdy weekend workhorse when I need to collect vegetables from own community garden, to get some food items at the store, or to store organic farm eggs, fresh mushrooms, strawberries, and even local seafood and pastured meats, if I bring a small sized freezer pack or two to line the bottom. Even fully loaded, I can carry it with ease on one shoulder, leaving both of my hands free to collect cash or card from my wallet, load items into paper, plastic, or cotton reusable bags, and even fish out my car keys once I’ve gotten back to the parking lot.Coleman is a classic American outdoor, cooking, and gear company for a reason. They may not have started out with soft sided coolers in mind when they began to make lanterns, camp stoves, and plastic coolers, but with this particular product at least, their design team has exceeded expectations, beyond any reasonable consumer measure.

Perfect for weekend tent camping!
This cooler is spot on for the weekend tent camper. I gave it only 4 stars because the bottom of the cooler gets damp after a couple days of thawing inside. When I am preparing for a camping weekend, I freeze a 2" thick block of ice in a 9x13" cake pan, then put this in the bottom of the cooler (to avoid a watery mess after 24 hours, put the ice block into a Ziploc LARGE (20x24") plastic bag). But still, condensation will make the outside of the cooler moist. Hence, don't leave it on the car seat overnight! Because it is collapsible, it is flexible for odd shapes and sizes. It has plenty of pockets (the one on the lid is great for bananas) and beefy handles on the sides for easy lifting. When the weekend is over, remove the contents and the cooler's bottom and wipe it clean with a Clorox wipe. The cooler interior is antibacterial, so it won't get moldy or stinky, but you must let it air out and dry before you collapse it up for storage. It saves space in the garage or closet. It's super light for easy carrying and not bulky and hard while carrying it.

a dessert and sometimes a big mason jar with a beverage along with random stuff like paperwork, olive oil container
I bought this for my USCG boyfriend to take to work with him (he's gone for several days at a time.) It fits about 3-4 days worth of 3 meals 2 snacks, a dessert and sometimes a big mason jar with a beverage along with random stuff like paperwork, olive oil container. We also use this sometimes when we are packing cold items to bring to a friends house to cook. I love it, he loves it and it does it's job. Holds a ton of food and keeps it cold. My only problem with it is, because it can carry so much, I feel like the strap should be stronger or at least more padded. We use glass containers so it makes it heavy but that's our own fault so I can't complain. Also no rips or tears so far after 5 months of every day use, and it takes a beating.

Damaged when arrived, also it leaked pretty badly
Cons:-The bag arrived damage when we opened the box - one of the velcro straps was completely ripped off the side of the bag.-Anytime we moved it out of the car, the melted ice leaked out of the corner while carrying it, getting water all over us. You'd have to carry it perfectly level to avoid leaks it seemed.Pros:-I love the idea of this product - large but very portable (it fit very conveniently both in carry-on luggage and anywhere in the car)- Didn't leak- With enough ice, kept food cold throughout the dayOverall:-Since it was damaged and it leaked badly multiple times, we returned it and will probably look for a different brand as a replacement.

Coleman C006 Soft 40 Can Collapsible Cooler
Me encantó.
