Great what a gift

Used for vacuuming two separate AC systems and it works well. Only thing that was odd was that on the second car, the pump would turn on for 2 seconds then shut off. I tried different outlets and made sure there was enough oil in it. After detaching it from the gauge set and putting the cap on, it ran fine. Aside from that minor hiccup, its a great pump/gauge set with an affordable price tag. Perfect for those that are looking to fix an A/C system but don’t really care for an expensive brand. If you’re looking to use this in a shop, I’d look elsewhere. If you’re looking to use this for one or two cars then put it in storage to never see light again, it’s a good product.

I am a professional automotive technicianThe manifold gauges are accurate, vacuum pump still works like new. I got this kit back when I was in trade school to get experience with automotive hvac and i've been using this same kit ever since then at my shop on customer vehicles and at home on my vehicles also on my home hvac system and it has never let me down. Definitely one of my best purchases.

I bought the pump and gauge set. I used this on a 410a mini-split AC system to pull a vacuum. The pump starting rattling like crazy with less than 5 hours of use on it. It did pull down a vacuum and held ok with the gauges, but the pump sounded like it would explode. I don't think it would pull another vacuum. I expected it to last for several jobs, not just one. The gauges were ok at holding a vacuum, but then I opened the AC system to allow the gas into the lines, I watched the pressure hit about 160 and then boom, the center of the gauges blew out and I started loosing gas to the environment. Luckily I was standing right there and was able to disconnect the unit quickly.I did get a refund for the broken units.Be careful with the gauges, and view the pump as a one-use machine.

DIY'er's, don't go spending a ton of money on expensive devices, ** this one does the job and does it WELL. ** I'm very pleased. If I could make any further recommendations, (as a truck own, with tall wheels), I would say purchase a longer intake line "the yellow tube", "only if you want to place the pump on the ground surface". In my application, I had the pump connected while resting in the car's engine bay with "no" problems, as the pump has been well designed with nice stoppers on the bottom to keep it from sliding during operation!"
