Talley rings are top notch in my opinion.

I've been using Tally QD rings on hunting and varmint rifles for over 20 years. Just recently started precision rifle shooting using rifles with picatinny rail bases. The all steel construction and precise milling of the modern sporting rings are of the same quality I have counted in in their QD rings with great fit and finish. While steel construction is slightly heavier than competitive aluminum rings, the added weight is hardly nociticeable on my PRS and NLR22 rifles and I can count on them to hold torque over hundreds of rounds.

To see a correct photo, customers should visit the Talley website.I purchased these new modern sporting rings with Talley's picatinny rail for my X Bolt Hells Canyon Speed. I had intended to purchase Talley's larger tactical rings until I saw these and appreciated the cleaner less bulky look, although I did have reservations about strength and stability. Those reservations vanished once they arrived and I mounted them up.One important note: Talley's website has an FAQ page that provides torque values for the one horizontal locking bolt on their tactical picatinny rings. That torque value is for their tactical rings only, not these rings. I called and spoke with a gentleman at Talley who indicated the torque value for the horizontal locking screws (affixing ring to rail) for these rings is 20-25 inch pounds. That may not seem like a lot for affixing rings to the rail. However, instead of there being one large bolt like the tactical rings have, these rings have two horizontal locking screws per ring.The torque value for the vertical torx screws affixing the top half ring to the bottom half ring is 18 inch pounds (not foot pounds).These rings are clean, minimalist, and light, yet they are little tanks. I haven't visited the range with them yet but they are solid -- and they're designed and manufactured by Talley. Very intelligently engineered and meticulously machined. I opted not to lap them because the machining was so good.
