Quality Carrier
This is a quality bike carrier, and it suits it's purpose well, but you need to know a bit about bikes, especially modern mountain bikes before purchasing any bike carrier...A lot of modern MTBs (mountain bikes) are slacker, longer and wider than those from a few years ago (around 2017). They have steeper head angles and longer rear chainstays for higher downhill speeds and capabilities. They are wider as the front and rear wheel hubs are 'boost' and 'boost plus'.What does this mean for choosing a carrier...we bought 2 modern MTBs, and tried carrying them on our 2 model version of this carrier from a couple of years back, they don't fit well as the spacing between the bikes doesn't allow for the wider front and rear ends, when fitted the front forks and rear ends are pressed tightly together and scratch/bang/rub together and due to the increased bike length they precariously just fit on the carrier. We bought this 3 bike carrier so that our bikes no longer touch/scrape and get damaged, we don't use the middle carrier. The length of the bikes is still an issue, though 1 set of extensions is provided which work a treat, though you'll need 1 set for each bike at around £20 for a pair. You also need to purchase the 'fat' bike extension straps as the straps are not long enough to secure both wheels on modern bikes, you'll need 1 extra strap for each bike (2 in a set) again around £20 per pair. Not ideal but if you have a modern MTB you don't really have an option as all the carriers we looked at are built to accommodate the majority of road and hybrid bikes rather than modern MTBs.This is a great carrier it's built well and works absolutely fine, we love the folding light rig and it's simple to use. The above is just our observation on most carriers suitably for modern MTBs.On a side note this carrier is identical to those made by Peruzzo, its straps and extensions fit this carrier too.Hope this helps.

Wrong instructions!
Overall very happy with this bike rack. The tilting mechanism is definitely very useful and bikes seem very secure on it.I don't know how this compares with Thule racks but I'm definitely happy enough with this rack and it's much more affordable.Assembly was a bit time consuming but straightforward enough once I realised that the wrong instructions had been included. The instructions that came with it were for the ZX303, which has a very different assembly method. For anyone buying this I'd suggest downloading and printing the correct instructions (in colour) before you get it so that you can see how to build it ahead of time and it'll also be easier to see which way round to put the lights on the tail board because the instructions will be in colour. As other reviews have mentioned you'll need an adapter if you have 7 pin electrics on your car as the rack has a 13 pin plug and an adapter isn't supplied.

Sturdy product, reasonably priced. But not all as described.
Bad bits first. Instructions are vague and could do with being in colour. The electrics are for 13pin...not 7 and 13 pin with an easy adaptor....caught out with this and left with no electrics first time I used it. Buy a separate adapterGood bits...once built, it was easy to fit to towbar, sturdy and easy to use. Took the weight of the 3 bikes with minimal droop. Bikes felt secure during transport. No wobble or wind noise. Having it drop/tilt to gain access to boot is a must for the dogs.Over all a gr8 product. For a very competitive price.. half the price of a Thule and just as good.Well worth it, but buy a plug and give yourself a few hrs to build it

Missing parts, awful instructions and misleading information.
Don’t be fooled by the lovely promotional video and photographs, this item comes in hundreds of pieces and takes approx an hour and half to build. The tools suggested in the very poorly written instruction manual are misleading, you will need a socket set.To add insult to injury there were loads of missing parts so could not complete the build. Contacted Amazon so called customer service who were determined to process an automatic refund and would not entertain the fact I wanted to keep the item and just have the missing parts sent. The when I agreed to a frustrated refund they said the May 17th refund deadline , today being 18th April , had passed. When I pointed this out they processed a refund subject to receipt of return. I now have to dismantle the item re box it , thank fully I kept the box, print a label and await collection. No cycling holiday for me this week!

Don't be put off
Was a little worried about the few bad reviews but don't be.When the box came and l opened it l thought oh dear. The assembly looked a bit daunting and the instructions a bit sketchy.Just spread the bits out and think about it. Then start working through the easy obvious bits reducing the parts and you will get there. The only thing was which way do the lights go so just went for it, whats the worst that can happen? You may have to swap them round. Fortunately I got it right when l plugged it in the indicators were in sync with the vehicle. Then it occurred to me if you plug it in first you can find out which is left and right.Yes the plug situation is debatable but just buy a 13-7 pin adaptor. If the bad reviews put you off don't be If you have half a brain go for it it's a good piece of kit.

Sturdy and functional but7-13 pin adapter required
Sturdy unit, basic, functional and good value.Does not come with 2in1 adapter as advertised (only a single wired 13 pin) additional 7-13 pin adapter required (purchased separately).Cannot contact seller to enquire/report issues with product as the only recourse is to return the product for refund.Assembly instructions are much like the unit - basic and functional.Locking nut needs to be well tightened when fitting to the tow ball.So far - has stood up well and remained secure when driving on fairly bumpy uneven roads.Good value but would consider something a little more upmarket with locks if planning to use regularly rather than occasionally.
