A whole new world in the dark!
We had a blast exploring the Lake Superior shore with this flashlight. It's a whole new world! We could see spiders and a bunch of really neat things in the dark along the rocks. Most importantly, this works beautifully if you're Yooperlite hunting in Michigan. It also lights up glow-in-the-dark objects beautifully--it really super charges them! We bring this light on all our camping trips now so we can explore at night. Super cool.

Glad I got 365nm instead of the cheaper, longer wavelength lights.
This is truly a "black" light. When shining it on things all you see are the things that fluoresce, the light itself is well outside of human vision range. If you look directly into the light (which you probably should NOT do) you can still see the telltale deep purple, but it's fairly faint. The manufacturer even put a little ring of fluorescing material on the inner ring of metal that lights up, to tell you the light is on.I keep finding new uses for this light. Yes it shows me how bad I am at cleaning, but it reveals a bunch of neat stuff beyond that too.The most useful one to me is I can tell if a bag of whole coffee beans is a blend of sources or roasts, vaguely how many different roasts are in the bag, and how oily the blend is overall. Lighter roasts fluoresce slightly more orange than dark roasts, and coffee oils shine bright green. It's great because I will often blend two coffees together myself, and with the light I can tell when they are fully mixed in the hopper and at about the right ratio. This came in really handy once when I had gotten beans from a different vendor and was trying to brew espresso. I was having a hard time getting things right, and when this light arrived and I was shining it on everything to see what it did, I noticed those beans were a blend of very dark and fairly light roasts. That totally explained my difficulties, and showed that the new vendor was not a good choice for espresso.I can also use it to see the varying depth of layers of polyurethane surface finish, and know if I've laid an even coat. The polyurethane glows slightly orange, so even on wood I finished years ago I can see some of my original brush strokes. The most surprising thing I've shone this light on, turns out, are split peas. Under regular light they are all the same shade of green, but under this flashlight they are all different bright colors like a bag of Fruity Pebbles. I don't know why, all I know is there is a hidden beauty to a bag of dried peas that I never otherwise would have known.Brightness is great, I can be standing up and easily see something fluoresce on the floor six feet away.

Impressed
I used this side by side with the Convoy C8 to hunt sodalite, also known as yooperlite. This light was more effective. The main difference is probably the range of the light beam although it seemed to be more powerful. Definitely suitable for a novice rock hunter not looking to invest the big bucks. Battery life lasted about 4-5 hours total which I felt is pretty good considering I was using the light for about an hour each time. Oh and it also can be used to find things like crayfish and scorpions!

Really impressed, start buying cleaning supplies
Thing is powerful for the size, good sized battery and the light really lights up thing up, I even discovered I had a toe funk thing going on by accident. Start cleaning.

Best light for diagnosing fluid leaks
The media could not be loaded. "oH, iTs NoT veRy BriGhT" You arent going to see any purple glow coming from this thing, but thats the point- it is right at the edge of our visible spectrum at 365nm. For those who are looking for a light to help detect flourescent dye- this works pretty well. It works pretty damn well. UV dye absolutely jumps out at you with this. I wasnt expecting much perfirmance from an unknown Chinese UV light, but the combination of the LED and filter is suprisingly effective. Actually almost works better without the glasses, as you can see in the video. You do have to be very careful not to leave it on all the time, since you cant see if its on or off at a glance. For instance, one of the pictures the light is on, and one of the pictures the light is off- try to guess which one is which. The glow-in-the-dark o-ring in the bezel is a nice touch, too. Dont be fooled by other 10, 50, 100 led lights on amazon, those are almost always above 385nm on the spectrum and will emit a bright purple light that can wash-out and flourescent dye you are trying to find. You know it's serious when it comes with a 22650 battery (and charger).

Makes rocks and lots of other things glow!
We got this to look at rocks fluorescing, and it doesn't disappoint. Has a great battery life, is very sturdy, and is overall exactly what we were looking for. However, not only is it terrific for going over your rock collection or finding amazing rocks in the wild, but this light really sheds new (UV) light on plants, lichen, fungus, algae, and bugs! We saw so many amazing things in bright new colors that you would never expect. Made night hiking our new favorite hobby.

This UV flashlight is very powerful - be careful with it.
We purchased this powerful UV flashlight because we were going to be traveling a long distance and having to use motels and hotels along the way -- and it served it's purpose well. Using the glasses that come with it, we were able to see all the areas that weren't cleaned well and was great to inspect the bedding for stains and bugs. Although the UV flashlight exposed that the surfaces of most of the motels and hotels we used were not cleaned well, the bedding in all of them were surprisingly clean and free of bugs. Just be careful with it. The UV light is very powerful and could damage your eyes if you look into it -- and the glasses don't protect you for that - they are just for seeing things that UV light reveals.
