Reviewing the MAYSLY Smart PTZ IP Camera.This is a motion sensing, robotic security camera that you can view live from your phone or other device and records to “the cloud” and a small SD card contained in the camer housing.Performance has been satisfactory considering this thing only cost $45 plus shipping.It senses motion and will track the objects movement until the subject stops for about 10 seconds, or leaves the range of the camera. Then it returns to where you previously pointed the camera.Set up requires you to download an app (both Android and IOS) simply by scanning the QR code on the box. The app guides you through the process of connecting to WiFi and was relatively straight forward for me. (Other folks have found this challenging.)Once connected, you have control of sensitivity of both sound and video responses in settings. You can have alerts sent to your phone when the camera senses sound or movement. You can view “live” video feed and can control where the camera is pointing and zoom in or out, from your device.(We had our sensitivity set too high and it was giving us alerts on squirrels in trees across the street and was tracking bugs flying past the camera.) So there is no misunderstanding, you do not have these controls on recorded video viewed on playback.There are subscription packages offered ranging in price from $70 to $200 per year ($6 to $16 per month) depending upon storage and features you want.Or, you can skip the packages and rely on the six-second alert clips that are generated when something is detected...I recommend getting a package.I do not think you can connect this to your laptop or home computer.As far as mounting and positioning the camera, the only challenges here are making sure you’re in reach of your WiFi and getting power to the camera.It has an approximately 7 ft long power cord that has a USB connector plugging into a standard two-prong plug module/adapter which you then have to plug into a 115v outlet (or an extension cord in my case.)There was no power option for 220v commonly found in Europe with the camera I received.I had to get creative finding electrics, running a 15 ft extension cord. This was for me, the most difficult step simply because of logistics...not fun crawling around in my attic!Over all, very satisfied. We are starting with the least expensive cloud storage package. It is possible to add another camera (up to five, I think) and we may do that in the future.I will update here with any problems or issues. It’s hanging right out there in the weather so we will see...

Whether you're indoors during covid-19 for safety purposes or out of the house, this camera serves both purposes as you can set it up with ease for viewing at any given moment in time. It even rotates to give you a clear 360° view of your environment, giving added safety to your home surroundings - at night, even, with a clear image on both accounts. I wouldn't buy anything else now that I've been accustomed to seeing this working perfectly at my home the last few weeks and I've been surprised at how homely I feel knowing I can view my surroundings with a touch of a button without having to jet around the house or open the door to see who is outside under these dangerous circumstances during the pandemic. 5 stars. Unless you want to purchase a cloud subscription this camera is pretty much worthless. You can only watch 5 seconds of an alert then it says watch full alert on cloud. I have a 512mb card inside, on record always, and I get 5 second snippets. Also, it continually disconnects and it is right outside the door where a mesh unit is.I bought another Security Camera Outdoor,Besdersec 2K 3MP HD, it is in my barn, and hasn't disconnected and will allow me to watch complete video wayback of my alerts. I will be replacing this camera with another Besdersec.

I've bought at least 3 of these cameras. For the price they were ok but, they only worked well for me for about 18 months, then it's time to replace them. Seems the updates on the app started getting them buggy. I used memory cards which is ok if you use the longer recording time settings. Like most cameras, there motion alerts are buggy too, unless you pay for the filters. Also important, they work ONLY 2.4 internet.

I bought 3 of these cameras for outside my home. 2 out of the 3 work great and haven't had any problems. But the 3rd one keeps going offline. I can go and tap it and it'll work again for a couple of hours and it goes offline again. It's always the one camera. It's not the farthest from my router either. So it's not an internet problem. I asked about it through support. They told me to delete it, reset the camera, and then add it. I did that and it's doing it again after not even a week of use. Also you can't view any of the videos without having cloud service. I am going to try a different brand of cameras now.

Excelent app and camera works perfect. I love this caera works perfect The alerts are shown with an image which helps to locate the details faster than others. If you open an alert, it is displayed for 9 seconds and if you want to see the alert completely it is very easy. I have tried many cameras and this is the best, the vision is good and the motion detector is incredibly good. You get more than you pay for.

This is my second camera. The first lasted for about 1 year and then basically died. I decided to buy the same one again because the product is just GREAT. Keep in mind it is an outdoor camera that performs functions you have in significantly more expensive products. For the money, impossible to find something better. I strongly recommend it.

I was satisfied with the camera for the first 6 months then it started giving problems. It would not stay connected. The problem persisted until I took it apart. It had an internal short and had almost caught fire. I'm lucky it didn't catch my house on fire. This thing is dangerous. I am taking the other one down and replacing with another brand.
