Fixed my Charge 3 which I previously had to leave plugged in
I messed up my charge a while back by using a water sprayer to attempt to clean some calcium build-up off it. The water forced through the cover and got into the battery. Ever since then it wouldn't stay on and playing for more than 5-8 minutes and it wouldn't hold a charge so I had to leave it plugged in to use it. The lights on the front would all blink rapidly when it was turned off but plugged in.Finally I decided I'd fix it and bought this. The old battery upon opening up was swollen and much thicker than this one but this one fit perfectly. There were no issues opening it, I found a video online (there are several versions of it with slightly different opening procedures, mine had no breakable seals, just plastic that fit together) and was able to get it done. I had dropped it before and one of the clasps kind of snapped off when re-assembling it so try and be very delicate when disassembling or re-assembling (I used black electrical tape to kind of hold one of the hooks on where the catch snapped).I used my own prying tools, plastic ones and one metal to open it, I'm sure in a pinch the one they supply could work though for my model you needed two in places to keep a tab upheld while releasing another but a credit card or similar may work in a pinch for those without spudgers and prying tools.Battery itself is excellent. Larger capacity by 1000mah than the original. I forgot how long I could use it without a charge. I can easily go a week now.I'll try and update this if the battery dies or looses major capacity anytime soon.

Good choice
Upgrade battery has good run time in my Charge 3. Pry bar and screw driver were handy. Found a good video on replacement instructions and all whent well. My old battery was pretty swollen and made the screws tight. Take care durring the dismantling. Goes back together much easier. Definitely recommend.

My Favorite BT Speaker is Back!
Easy fix. Watch a few YT vids. Can’t tell mine from new. Seems to have longer battery life than the original.

Battery lasts longer than the original
It was easy to install by yourself, I like that the battery lasts much longer than the original. I've had it for 3 years now.

Fixed crackling speaker
My speaker would crackle when the battery was low on battery. It is now fixed and no longer crackles. It is also a lot louder.

This is the one!
After thinking my speakers in my charge 3 were blown due to the crackling and replacing them I was disappointed they were still doing it. It didn’t make any sense to me. Bummer, $10 wasted. So I got on the ol’ Google machine and did a bit of digging and stumbled across the battery causing that issue. Swapped my original speakers back in and ordered a new battery, meanwhile I removed the old, bulging, slightly worrisome one from the unit. New one arrived the following day and install was a breeze (you may want to be handy with electronics - I’d say difficulty is a 2/5 to install. It does take a bit of thought and some muscle to pop the end of the speaker off). Overall satisfied with my purchase and have been running the charge 3 to test it the other night (about 6 hours) and yesterday poolside for another 3. Plugged it in to charge this morning and was showing 4/5 LED’s for battery life. If it holds up I’ll be happy I saved a $130 speaker for $30 (would’ve only been $20 had I known about the battery issue prior to ordering speakers).
