Very effective for a short time
This review is for Alphacool Frosty Mesh Ice Vest with Replacement Ice Packs, which I wanted to love, but fell just short of. I wanted a cooling vest for my boyfriend who works outside and often overheats in the summer - I chose this design vs. all the others out there, because I like the cooling open weave of the vest, the fact the sides are adjustable, and the fact it comes with replacement packs so you can have a set chilling in the freezer while you're wearing one outside. The first test seemed like a success - my boyfriend came home overheated and put the vest on to cool down and take a nap - he was instantly relieved by it and said it was wonderful. He is 6'2" and I thought the vest looked too short, but he said it was actually positioned perfectly to keep the cold packs over the hottest parts of his body. That said, after about 30 minutes he said he could tell they had lost their cool and needed to be refreshed. The front packs fit nicely into their vest pouches, but the pouch for the rear ice pack is a bit narrow and I can forsee the edge of the ice pack wearing the stitching down over time. While we bought this for him to use outside while working, after the first test, it seems like he'll probably use it more indoors after work, rather than during work, just due to how quickly the packs lost their cool in cool indoor temps vs. outside in the blazing sun. Additionally, the dark colors of the vest and packs themselves will absorb the sun, so that further accelerates the ice melting. That said, if the conditions are hot enough, even just a short window of cooling is better than none, so we'll see. I think for this to be a five star product - 1. the ice packs would have to be thicker or otherwise better able to stay frozen (they are quite thin - maybe 1/2"), 2. the stitching on the vest needs to be more durable and properly sized to the packs, 3. the vest and ice packs need to be of a color or material that reflects the sun instead of absorbs it or at least the pouches that the packs go in need a reflective layer on the outside to repel the sun. 4. there should be a recommended way to secure or trim the tails of the side straps as the excess is extremely long, even for my 6'2", 240 lb boyfriend. Ultimately, we WILL enjoy this product as a refreshing and much needed solution for cooling down quickly, even though it would be nice if it was more robust and able to stay colder longer.

Garbage
I sent this back after one use because the gel packs only stayed cold for me for about 10 minutes when mowing the yard the other day. The gel packs themselves are pretty thick and the amount of jel in each pack is a very small amount. It just doesn’t work at all.

Cool and Comfortable, but Ice Packs Don’t Last Long
I bought the Frosty Mesh Ice Vest by Alphacool to stay cool during outdoor activities in the summer, and overall, it does a decent job. The adjustable straps make it easy to get a snug fit, and the mesh material is lightweight and breathable, so it doesn’t feel bulky or restrictive.The included ice packs provide great cooling, but unfortunately, they don’t stay cold for as long as I’d hoped. On especially hot days, they seem to lose their chill within an hour or so, which means frequent refreezing if you want to use them continuously. Thankfully, the extra set of ice packs helps extend usage time, but you’ll still need a way to keep them frozen if you're out for a long period.Despite this drawback, the vest offers instant relief when first put on, and it's a good option for short-term cooling during workouts, yard work, or even just lounging outside. If the ice packs lasted longer, this would be a perfect product!4/5 stars – Good cooling vest, but expect to swap out ice packs often.

A++++ 6 STARS
The Frosty Mesh Ice Vest is a game-changer for staying cool in hot weather, with adjustable straps for a perfect fit and long-lasting ice packs that keep me comfortable for hours. The breathable mesh design makes it easy to wear, and having two sets of gel packs means I can always have a fresh, cold set ready to go. I use it hiking and its a game changer. A++++

Good, but not great
Ice packs don't completely freeze, so on a hot day they are quickly heated up and melt. You can get about 20-30 mins of coolness. I don't believe it's worth the price I paid. The vest is a very light mesh and does not seem durable. It is comfortable however the adjustable straps are too long, even for my larger build. Buy at your own risk.

Cooling relief
My husband is a painter and works in the extreme heat outdoors at times. This vest is great, comes with extra ice packs so you can keep in your ice chest for spares. Works great for a quick cool down.

Could of been better..
The vest itself is good quality and the adjustment straps r very soft and long so almost anyone can use it. The problem is the main part the damn ice packs. The packs r very soft but it doesn’t freeze. Max it gets is slushy 2 full days in the freezer. The damn back pads so damn thin I used both n still don’t last. The whole kit I use all the pads they give total 2 sets 6 pads at once it only last me about 30mins from the time once it’s on the body. I upgraded the ice packs from igloo 1 large and 4 small. Cost me 10$. I had other cheap vest 20$ set with really cheap ice bags those last me all the way home and only half way melted. For 80$ something dollars I was expecting something more sorry..
